How good is our DL Duo?

Since Crick and Suh, has there been a such a good duo on the DL as Hutmacher and Robinson in the last 15 years? 

I’ll let y’all discuss Demarrio, Gregory, Ward, etc..

But damn, these boys show up and show out. They stop the run, get pressures, bat passes, take double teams, fill lanes and chase plays like we haven’t seen for quite some time.  I know that Wistrom, Peter Bros, Kelsey, Farley, times were 20+ yrs ago…

just wanna give props to Hutmacher and Robinson while we can. Those boys are disruptive, strong, and full go.  
Let’s add J Williams to this new group as well. That kid is a pass rush assassin.  
 

just want to throw some love to our 300+lb group of DL that are really f’ing good!!

Maliek Collins and Vincent Valentine was a very stout DT combo.  Both left after their junior years and were 3rd round NFL draft picks.

Good call. I forgot about Collins and Valentine. They were Pelini recruits (I think). It's been dark years since them.

 
The Davis bros were talented, but their talent was wasted playing 4i in Chins scheme.  It's going to be real interesting to see this unit next season because it seems like there's a big drop off behind these 2, but those 2nd & 3rd unit guys seem to hold their own when they are in.  Can they make the splash plays these 2 have been finding this season???

 
Just so glad they both decided to come back for this year.  It gives the younger guys more time to develop and hopefully replace them without much of a drop off - thus creating a defensive 'pipeline'.   Now if the OL pipeline can be rebuilt, then we can win the war upfront and start dominating again. 

 
I was thinking about this last weekend, and found myself wondering how we will replace them looking at the depth chart.  We better enjoy them while they (and Tony White) are still here!
