How, or does, NU respond to PSU scandal?

Just wanted to hear some opinions on this...

If it is status quo scheduled at Penn St. on Saturday i.e. Paterno coaches, Spanier still in place, etc...does anyone feel NU has an obligation to make some kind of a statement? Fans of both teams are understandably outraged, but how 'outside the box' would it be if Nebraska officials came out and said, "due to the situation, unless changes are made, Nebraska will not be playing at Penn St. this weekend." Granted, I think this is as unlikely as the chance that Penn St. would forfeit the rest of the season, but I'm wondering...we all know what the situation at Happy Valley was like for Husker fans in 2002...these are going to be the same 100,000+ fans who are all going to be pissed off. You wouldn't think that NU fans, coaches, and players would be targeted as a result of this situation directly, but it didn't really matter in a 'normal' setting in 2002, did it? Just wondering if there is going to be some safety/security issues, as there's bound to be lots of protests and anger at the stadium.

I don't think we address the issue in anyway..............it has nothing to do with the University of Nebraska. If Penn State wants to call the game off, that's on them.

When I first opened this thread I thought it was going to be something completely different. Why on earth would Nebraska do that? These events did not happen on our campus, nor did they involve any Nebraska officials, so our best bet is to let Penn State handle this and not make this a bigger hassle than it needs to be.

Honestly, I'd like to see a gesture of sportsmanship from our players and coaches Saturday because I feel for the players at Penn State. This is the last home game for their seniors and instead of this week being about football and their last game at Beaver Stadium, they have to deal with this. We're talking about young men that had absolutely nothing to do with that schmuck, Sandusky...why should they have to suffer? Come Saturday, I'd like to see our guys shaking hands with their guys before the game or at least some gesture of class, from human beings to human beings, letting them know that we feel for them and what is going on, because what's going on at their campus is bigger than the game of football.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^

WHY would we respond? that is bulletin board material if we do. So, the team and the university needs to just keep their mouths shut and comments to themselves. We have enough problems with this team, don't need to give PSU a reason to be pissed off.

I would be surprised if the PSU fans are hostile. I would guess they will be subdued and depressed. Its a criminal matter with no players on either responsible. The coaching staff at PSU must be pretty upset. I read that the assistant who saw the crime and reported it to JoePa is now their WR coach. How weird is that??? :ahhhhhhhh

Only concern in regard to our program is if it's an ugly game and stupid things are said afterwords that look bad and poison the beginning of what is supposed to be a rivalry game.

This has nothing to do with Nebraska, and making a statement of any sort would be UNL sticking its nose where it doesn't belong. If the game is held, we show up at Happy Valley, play football, and call it a day.

If this happened at NU, I would not be going to a home game. I would not want to be a fan of or any part of my program. It is going to be a strange atmosphere in the stadium saturday. I would expect it to be half full, and quiet.
