Eric the Red

Team HuskerBoard
This is what it’s all about, it’s Longhorn week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got my column out early this week. Feelin’ the vibes early folks. Feelin’ good vibes, excited vibes. Sure last week against ISU we got stale on offense, but the defense came through. Huskers were looking ahead. They got plenty up their sleeve. ;)

Studied some of the statistics and it looks like it will be quite a tall order for the Huskers. Huskers although ranked up to ten spots higher than Texas, will most likely be the underdog, most likely a touchdown or so. Longhorn offense is very balanced. 205 rushing and 221 passing. They have two quarterbacks that can play. Young, the freshman, can run like a deer and has got a cannon for an arm. Talked to Dirty Dale a couple weeks ago who was living down in Texas last two years, around the Denton area, said he got to see Young play as a senior and he was sick. Vick like sh#t man. He apparently has solidified himself as the starter. Although Cedric Benson was not in uniform last week. Apparently he is under investigation for trespassing. Lets see what happens there. <_<

Interestingly on defense, they are not too shabby either. If you take away the Oklahoma game the Longhorn defense has only given up around forty points. Stout D. Though Nebraska has everything else easily bettered with the Blackshirts.

One thing that is glaring to me is that the Longhorns are giving up 166 yards on the ground, 76th in the country. Also sticking out to me is that there doesn’t appear to be an overwhelming home field advantage. Nebraska has always played the Horns tight and this year alone, Texas has lost only two games, both in the state of Texas.

My fellow Huskers, I feel something nibbling at my heart for this game. I believe it won’t be pretty. It won’t picturesque. It won’t be dominating and it won’t be flashy. But it will be a victory. This team, more exact, this defense has worked entirely too hard to lose this game. They have the drive, the heart, the desire, the unity, the work ethic, the speed, and the unquenchable thirst to make us proud. To make all Nebraskans proud. They will not sway, they will not falter, and they can’t and will not accept defeat. There is a freshman quarterback playing for Texas who has only seen one dominating defense all year and got crushed. He couldn’t pick up on the schemes and you know what?? Our defense is better. It’s stronger. It’s quicker. It has stars. It has guys named to Butkas semifinal lists, mid-season All-American teams, it has an interception leader. It has no- names, which are the nucleus of the nations #1 defense. There are guys named Ruud, T.J., Teamer, and LaKevin. That no one has ever heard of. All together if they play at the level they are capable of they can and will beat Texas in Austin on Saturday November 1, 2003. They have the will and the biggest set of nuts in these parts than any team in the last few years. Most of all they have a big, bright red “N” on their helmet. :D

Don’t get me wrong. Texas will drive, but they will not capitalize. Turnovers, miscues and downs will force them to take field goals. The Huskers will be sluggish for most of the day on offense and will the defense to fight for them, that is until the fourth quarter when they will explode for 14 big ones.

It’s all on the defense's shoulders, Huskers in a squeaker NU…. 23 UT…. 19

Little Johnny was in his 4th grade class when the teacher asked the

Just a joke I received and thought I would share

Yes, HUGE week indeed, as E-red stated so eloquently. Got me a little moist to be honest.

Needless to say this is yet another one of those pivotal weeks. Those weeks where we are again upon that proverbial fork in the road. And everyone knows what we need to do in this situation. Thats right, TAKE IT!! Because it's our damn fork, its our damn conference, and we control our own damn destiny.

If we want to find ourselves back in the drivers seat of the Big 12, and back in contention with OU and UT for those top cruits, instead of left sitting at the salad bar with a spoon in one hand, and UT's junk in the other, we need to win big f'ing games like this one!!

So gatdummit, let's stick Yack Brown and his premadonna hacks with that m-f'n fork and twist it - b/c Texas is dun!!

and I am out-

Nice Eric.......

This is certainly the game, but I don't think we have to base our whole season on it. Lets face it we havn't beaten Texas a whole lot lately. I think it is much more important to beat CU, KU, and Kst and hope someone beats MU.

You basically have to throw all of the games up to this point out. Huskers really haven't played anyone. Okie ST, but it was the first game of the year. Huskers could very easily get rolled this week. Just don't have an offense. Texas is ranked quite low in the rush defense, but so was Iowa St. and I wouldn't say we pushed them all around.

But that would never be my pick, I'm a Husker and you never root against the mighty Red. Somehow, someway the defense gets it done...

Thanks for the posts everyone. Im about ready to run through a brick wall Im so jacked!!

Hey Timmy, just wanted to let you know that we actually created a forum just for stuff like the joke you posted. So if you or anyone else has another Husker/Big 12 related joke, please also post them in this forum: http://www.huskerboard.com/forums/index.ph...hp?showforum=32

That way we'll have a central storage place to find jokes when we need a laugh, or to fwd to that annoying Kstate/MU/TX fan in our lives. B/c just like psycho ex girlfriends, we all have at least one.

Damn right is is Wronghorn week and the Huskers are going to break the horns off those steers and send them to the meat packing plant! I am one of the lucky fans who is blessed with the good fortune to be able to attend the game and help create the Husker atmosphere to ruin the rest of the TU football season. I can hardly concentrate, I am so stoked!

Someone in my office came to me this week and said "if Texas loses to Nebraska this week, Mack Brown is out of there." I disagree with that for two reasons. First, if that butchering that the Sooners gave them a few weeks ago, which I might add was 52 points and twice the horrible amount we lost to Colorado by two years ago, wasn't enough to send Mack the Choker to his grave then anything we do isn't going to push him over the edge. Second, I hope that that miserable wreck of a school keeps Mack Brown because he will never win the big game and Texas will continue to play in the Culligan Bowl each year. Outside of Nebraska winning its' 6th National Title, nothing would make me happier than to see that. Then I will be able to continue to listen to the mindless drivel that Horn fans spew about how great they were when they won their last national title 35 years ago. Texass fans are the biggest bunch of losers in the whole conference, if not the nation. I know everyone hates CU fans as well, but living in Texas I have first hand knowledge of the spite and idiocy that plagues the Horn nation.

I have to give it up to Eric on his point about the lack of home field advantage that Texass has. That is completely true and they have no idea what it is like to have real fans that can create an atmosphere as powerful as Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. When was the last time anyone saw Texas on the list of difficult places to play or great football atmospheres? Never because neither of those are true. If anyone remembers the last time we played Texas and beat them in a Big 12 game, it was in the state of Texas at the AlamoDome which is basically their back yard. It would be the equivalent of Nebraska playing in Omaha. Their fans suck, their team sucks, and they have the greatest recruiter/worst football coach in the Big 12.

Eric is also right about Vincent Young, he is a phenom and will be lethal in years to come but he's a true freshman and our defensive schemes will confuse him. We basically play the same defensive package as Oklahoma and look what they did to those pansy a$$ queers. He and Cedric Benson, who has been a tremendous disappointment, will cough the rock up to the Blackshirts at least once a piece on Saturday.

Demorrio and company will make us proud and we will not lose to the Texass queers again.

GO BIG RED!
