I'd give it about a week before his absence is noted, max. Probably sooner than that one of our more inquisitive members is going to notice he's not a Mod anymore. If you don't already have a plan to announce that he's stepped down, I would suggest thinking about it soon. There will definitely be questions and it'll be best if we present a united front rather than tackle this each on our own.

I know what your saying. But he really fired at me pretty good, mkae a lot of crappy accusations and it's going to be hard to over look. OUt of respect for Mike's wishes I cannot post what he said here just now. He wants it kept out of the forums.

I'm with you Eric, this is a real tough spot to be in and I'm glad that you're the one handling it.

With respect, I feel like his firing off at you should not be surprising, based on the actions taken - his removal as a moderator prior to response (I may be wrong here), and the suspension of his account. I know he's hurt by all this as well. You said it in the first post - one of the weirdest twists this board has taken. Though it's just weird overall and I see where you are coming from in taking these actions, I can also see that it feels extremely unfair to him to be given this treatment.

Very delicate situation...Don't know if I want to say too much more now ... I think we all need some time to digest this, let it stew around for a bit. And as others have said, there's lots the rest of us don't know, either - so please don't take this as criticism.

With regard to a statement, I think we should hold off a bit on any announcements unless asked, as muddled as things are now. If asked, we could just say "Yes, HSKRNOKC has decided to step down as a moderator, but we don't have more details at the moment." My sense is that it wouldn't be fair to him to provide anything more than that unless he's OK with it.

 
Eric, I trust that you are making the best decision. It's a terrible situation to be in, but all the Admin's and Moderators want what's best for the board and whatever that is, so be it.

 
Well, here's the scoop. We discussed and we are all for letting him come back as a member. He needs the board and we need him. It's the best happy medium. I will pm and email him.

 
Okay, if anyone asks just tell people Mike didn't feel like being a mod anymore. That's all anyone needs to know.

But I finally figured out how to unsuspend anyone and he is now ready for takeoff.
