*** Husker FB Misc Topic bullsh#t Thread ***

Apparently there's some behind the scenes drama going on with Husker Online's transition from Rivals to On3. That's why the logo at the top still says 'coming soon', and all the articles currently available on the site are from Sipple - he was never a Rivals employee, so he's not affected by any contract dispute stuff there. So for now, it's Sipps Illustrated.

Shannon Terry (On3 CEO/247 & Rivals founder) posted this:

Late last night, it came to our attention that there was some confusion between Rivals and Huskers Online regarding their official move date to On3.

It is our understanding the confusion is regarding an issue unrelated to Huskers Online. I have instructed our team to remove all Huskers Online marks until sensible discussions can be had.

We still have some great news to share. We welcome former Lincoln Journal Star legend reporter Steve Sipple to the team. An icon in the Nebraska Cornhuskers market, Sipple brings decades of experience and contacts to this site and On3.

Regardless of this minor setback, we will be full steam ahead with Huskers Online in the very near term.

Shannon Terry (CEO and Founder of On3)

(I know you're all waiting for the Swimsuit Edition.)

Wonder if it's like a non-compete clause in the contract or something. Wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing articles attributed to 'On3 staff writer' or something.

Just Sean with the hang-up?

It would seem so:

One rumor floating around is that Sean Callahan quietly bought the publishing rights to the Rivals K-State site at some point. I haven't seen anything that confirms it, but I saw a post from 2018 mentioning it as a rumor. Speculation is that his contract with Rivals for that site isn't up until September, and that's why he has to wait to make the transition. Not sure if it's true or not, but Callahan said that "non-Nebraska related publishing obligations" were at issue in his tweet, which would seem to fit the rumor.
