I don't think arbitrary analytics is trying to make any particular point, but it does bring up the question to me of how exactly you would define and quantify the factor of a home field advantage.

It certanly can't just be based on win results or point differential, because you could theoretically have the best team ever and the lamest least intimidating fanbase, and that data only favors teams that are good. Maybe performance relative to the spread at home is a place to start.

 
We used to defend our house. We used to win a lot. The crowd, obviously showed up. We can have a hostile environmental, when needed. 
The last 10yrs have not been good to us on the winning and defending part. 
But the crowds have shown up, so plz God, let the winning and defending part start to happen again. It needs to  be bred into our system. 
 

I’d start a new thread but it’s pointless. So I’ll say it here: I think one of the MAIN things Rhule needs to do is start some grassroots movement amongst the players, campus, fans, and home crowd is to start the:  

WE DONT F’ng LOSE AT HOME. 

that would go a long way to assuage fans, build a toughness at home, bring back a much needed energy to our home crowd (no offense but we need to do better), have some pride and passion in our House, and make a statement to all of college ball…if you come to Lincoln you can’t win. Make it happen.  
 

Lincoln is a hard place  to beat the Cornhuskers.

The only way for him to do that is to instill that in the team.  If the team has that attitude, it spills over into the fans.  But, if the team is constantly crapping the bed, the fans aren't going to bring that attitude to the game.

Yeah, I've often thought by far the biggest factor is "it's a tough place to win" is simply having a pretty good team over an extended period of time.  And having a crowd that shows up to go with it.
