Husker Track and Field

With the addition of the Pac-12 schools, the Big Ten is becoming a much tougher track and field conference. Nebraska holds its own at the conference meet, thanks largely to its strength in the field events. It’s clearly a field-focused program, but to consistently contend for team titles, Nebraska will need to maintain that strength while becoming much more competitive on the track.

One of the things that has concerned me with the roster limits being implemented by the NCAA is the fact that many US HS kids will be left behind in Division 1.  Our Olympic team relies heavily on development of US HS athletes especially in the field events.   Nebraska is doing what they have to so they can win, I get it.  Just a little frustrating as a HS track coach.

Bringing in the foreign students doesn't help with either. I get the need to want to win, though.
