Am I the only one who thinks husker x needs a good a$$ kickin'?? Seems like the fu&*#r has a splinter up his a$$ the size of a redwood and tends to verbally joust about almost anything with anyone. Just my freedom of speech kickin' in. He may actually be the first I have to put on IGNORE. well, not yet

 
Unfortunately I don't think Mods should have people on Ignore. I had a lengthy Ignore list that I undid a while back, because we have to police things around here. Sucks.

Husker_x seems to enjoy poking bee's nests. I've sent him a PM warning him about his continued swearing on the boards, and cautioning him that he is crossing a line with some people about this free speech thing. We'll see how he responds. I'm guessing it won't be well.

 
j/k about the ignore thing. Chaps my hide reading some of his stuff though. Just because he has the right of free speech doesn't mean he's right :rollin I admire you and how you exchange ideas with him though. I would have given up long ago. :thumbs

I don't mind his posts personally (or the censored swears/free speech thing). We have the right to run the forum how we want, I guess, but be too heavy handed and we just create a bad environment that isn't what a message board should be.

It's been kind of a mess...oh well. Locking down threads especially when there's an argument for not doing so, that's to be expected. I think a post to that effect would have been good. Either way we did get a good discussion on the main board about message boards and the team.

The problem I think is that a message board in its most open, ideal state is kind of at odds with what's best for the team sometimes.

Check out the Hidden Posts thread in the junkyard for his response. The guy just likes pushing buttons. That's his thing.

EDIT - I gave him a warning and put him on Mod approval. If he keeps this crap up I'm going to request a ban. There's absolutely no excuse for this behavior.

I have no problem with most people on the board but a couple just don't sit right with me. I can size people up pretty well in person and he doesn't feel right on the internet but I don't know how I'd react to him in person.

Sayin' that I want what is best for the board and keeps the most people happy with what we and the admin do with the board. Every once in a while there will be times that a judgment call just isn't going to be very popular.

My nickname most of my life was rawhide; nobody could pronounce my real name Vryheid. :dunno :)

To be fair knapp, that seems like provoking someone you know will respond negatively, and then punishing him when he does.

I hope that banning a member won't come out of this. Especially Husker_x, who I generally find pretty reasonable and a solid poster here. I think emotions are a little frayed all around on this, and I'm not sure he crossed any lines (before that last post). I think we should just let things simmer down for a bit.

 
There was absolutely no call for the post he made, in the forum, which I had to move. None. "Good guys" do not make posts like that, provoked or not.

I think you are in the minority in finding x reasonable, zoogies. He's strayed far from reasonable the longer he's been here.

EDIT - but I agree with letting things simmer down. I have no wish to ban anyone, and frankly I'll be happy to take him off Mod Approval. It's annoying having to approve every post.

EDIT #2 - and I trust it goes without saying that we do not discuss things posted in this forum with other members, via PM or on the boards. Is that not true?
