If I remember corredtly, you just have to use the pw and then change it to what you want.

Everything else should be done.

I think only Frank or Chad can do it. It's a semi recent addition for the rest of us as well.

rawhide -- don't worry. I forget mine all the time. There's no way to retrieve it, either, without bugging that one guy. Luckily I've got the account set up in Gmail and it's no longer a worry.

By the way -- don't set up forwarding. I think the way they want you to go is IMAP (Frank, correct me if I'm wrong). Dave Stahr, the guy from the email provider that helps us with these things, made a strong emphasis about it sometime last year. Forwarding gets them flagged as spam.

Be glad to do it. I know, however, that some folks may not want it, so please post back here if you do want a Huskerboard email account. I'll set it up and reply back here, and send you your initial password via PM.

And zoogs is spot on with several points. When you get your account, do NOT set up a rule to forward it to another account, such as Gmail. You can set up either a POP or IMAP account on your mobile or desktop (of course, you can elect to use the web interface on your computers, as well, but that can be clunky - the mobile interface doesn't do much for me and the desktop mode is not mobile friendly). I recommend IMAP; if you go POP you'll get the emails, but you can't reply directly - Dave has set it up so there is NO relaying of any type through the servers (Dave, by the way, is not DaveH - he's Dave with Virtual Impressions). The instructions for setup are located at http://www.rapidemail.net/mail-client-setup/. Also, if you use IMAP, I know you can integrate it into an existing account, such as Gmail, very easily.

Password resets have to be done through Dave - if you need to do that, just let zoogs or me know. I usually email him and copy whomever is needing the reset so he knows it's legit.

Finally, once you are set up, you log in at https://mail.rapidemail.net/. Anyway, just post back here if you want it. Thanks!

BRI, do you have another email address? I can email Dave for a reset and copy you, and he can then reply directly to the other email address.
