Yeah, by this morning those 7,000 impressions had risen to 22,000! Crazy

I have a question about Recruiting Compliance, too.

Everyone is on Twitter nowadays, including recruits, but the message clearly states:

NCAA rules and regulations are complex to say the least, but one area that is completely straightforward is fan communication with recruits. If any fans, boosters, alumni (or any other supporters) of Nebraska has any contact (e.g., in-person, instant message, text message, e-mail, fax, etc.) whatsoever with a recruit there are could be serious consequences such as:
I'm taking the following guidelines to include:

-following recruits

-mentioning @account name, Retweeting, etc -- even if they're announcing a commitment. But I guess when they've signed, it's OK?

-favoriting tweets by recruits

But surely this must happen on a massive scale across the country. It's the nature of twitter. It seems like very dangerous ground.

The NCAA has taken the ridiculous position that if a fan identifies with the school (and isn't that the definition of a fan?), they become a "booster". In theory, then, all you listed would be violations. In reality, the NCAA has never taken action on those that I can recall.

I never remember to post things on the Facebook page but I'm on Twitter enough I think I could learn to get stuff up there pretty regularly.

What kind of things do we want to do? Tweet news and hot threads? What about re-Tweeting info?
Don't be afraid to twitter the sh#t out of the recruiting pages....that's what's hot along with a numerous hot updates he are getting with coaches.

My advice is don't be scared to use it.

Yeah, all of that sounds good. I've never used twitter before, actually. Whatever the cool kids on twitter do. I suppose the goals would be to point people to the site, which can be done by linking directly to threads and directly promoting the board, or general Husker twitter stuff that hops into existing conversations and maybe reaches out to a userbase and starts building followers.

I'm not up to date on Facebook's status in the world, but it seems like Twitter is much more relevant and agile for this sort of thing.

I have facebook covered.

Got a question though. Lately I'm posting and i would usually attach the Huskerboard pic i have, but it wont let me do that or it removes the link to the thread I put in there.

Any suggestion?

That's odd. Sorry, I have no idea how it works!

Mav -- would you like to post an announcement advertising the Twitter account? It's through the mod panel and can appear in all forums.

I deleted one of the duplicate notices about the downtime. That's something I've done a couple times myself (a redundant tweet

By the way @Mav, great work. I think these are the two most successful HB plugs we've ever had. New asst coaches seem to be a hot topic.

Agree on the Twitter feed. We probably need to promote our account more. Any ideas?
