You would be mistaken in regards to me wanting us to lose period. I would prefer we go 15-0. He'll I would settle for 12-2 this year. 4 losses doesn't cut it in year 5,6,7. Show me some progress is all I ask from this staff.

Look everyone. Hedley thinks going undefeated will get us in the playoffs from the BigTen.

There won't be 5 undefeated teams at the end of the season. A 13-0 B1G team would make it easily. The playoffs aren't selected by ESPN

 
Nobody on that selection comittee respects the Big Ten this year. But yeah, if there are only 2 undefeated conference champs and we are one it would be hard to keep us out. Even then, conference is Nebraska and Penn State losing from being shut out of playoff.

 
Your dreaming id you think the committee doesnt have an SEC Boner. Regardless of how spread out the affiliation is the SEC is perceived as the top dawg. Having Alvarez and TO on there does nothing to help us or the conference. TO cant vote for Nebraska anyway.

How do you figure they have a SEC boner? Because you actually have no clue. If NU were to run the table they are in the playoffs period. Though we are currently waddling in mediocrity our name still carries some clout with people that are old enough to remember when we were a powerhouse

 
I have pretty big clue. It's called perception. ESPN isn't the only media outlet that thinks our league sucks. BTN will basically admit to that. IF Nebraska and Penn State are undefeated and play in the Big Ten title game, then yes the winner can get in. But, if the winner of the conference has even 1 loss on their record we will probably not be getting in. The SEC champion with 0 or 1 loss is a lock. Oregon looks unstoppable but will probably still get in with a loss and a title, really any Pac 12 champ will get in. Oklahoma or Baylor should win the Big 12 easily but will probably have a loss, that probably still gets them in. And I really don't see much hope that FSU doesn't get in if they win today.

It's College Football. Anything can happen. But when you stack this conferences resume up to a similar conference champion or two from other leagues? It's not even close this season. The Big Ten has lost almost every marquee game we have had to show we can hang with The Pac 12, Big 12, SEC and ACC. You really don't think that will effect the committees judgement when decision time rolls around. Whichever undefeated champs there are will get in. If that leaves 2 or 3 spots open, we will very likely see our conference left out in the cold. Thems the breaks. That's why it's so damn important we take care of business this year and carry the league on our back like we used to.

How likely is it to have both Nebraska and Penn State undefeated in the title game to ensure an undefeated conference champion? I would say highly unlikely.

No way does every power 5 league have an undefeated champ so the tiebreaker there is moot.
