Okay the season has begun, so out comes the vitriol. huskers15 posted a personal attack here. I unapproved his post to remove it. I was going to PM him to give him a reminder of our board rule against personal attacks, but should this be a warning in a PM or a formal warning along with a suspension?

I gave him a warning and permanent mod preview + remove posting + suspension.

It's a first offense, but for something like this, I don't think there's an "oops, I understand now" that can possibly result in the way it can when someone's having difficulties getting along with other people on the board.

Can/should this be a ban, as well?

 
Good work. Not sure what to think on the ban but since that's basically what they created the account for I don't think it would be out of line.

 
Just to play devil's advocate. Is this just for the comments he made about muslims? Granted, he is painting with a wide brush but then it's the P&S forum and we've allowed much more leeway in the past when members have played loose and free with the paint roller in their statements about one group or another. Just sayin'.

I don't think it is really racism. More disparaging against a religion in general. That has gone on with other religious groups in the past too.

If you're going to enforce #5 in the P&S forum especially about offending anyone. That pig don't hunt

Just to clarify my position. I don't think what you did was wrong. And you have to make the call as you see fit. We each bring something different to the HB table.
