I like Mike Riley's offensive strategy

He just needs the time to recruit his players and get everyone used to his system. In 4-5 years, I could easily see us winning 9-10 games consistently...just give it time.
I don't want Bo back, but winning 9-10 games consistently got him fired. Need to win at least a conference championship.
That's not the only reason he was fired and we all know that. He was an a$$hole, period, and showed that several times.

^^This. Winning 9-10 games consistently was the only thing that kept him from getting fired sooner.

Given his career record, what would lead someone to believe that all of a sudden he's going to become a eight, nine, or ten win a season coach?

He had his recruits at OSU and didn't reach those levels on a consistent basis.

I thought maybe at a bigger school, more resources and all that, but after six games I can see why he's a .500 coach.
spot on, his record speaks for it's self.

The fact people still think this blows my mind. Bo fired himself with how he acted. If he won 9-10 games without being an a$$ monkey he would still be here and everyone knows it

Cool post bro.

Heres a strategy. You know how when you get pinned on the one yard line like Nebraska does, and you can not make a first down ( because its technically impossible for the NU offense and defense to face off in intercollegiate competition)....why not line up on third down and surprise shift to a punt. Wisconsin has to burn a timeout or field a punt with their safety. Either way we win. Wisconsin burns a timeout, we win the game. They needed all three to stop the clock on our last drive.

I'm not sure what's more amusing, the fact that the OP is willing to wait 4-5 years for us to get back to winning 9-10 games, or the fact that someone +1'd this...

If by "amusing", you mean "sad and pathetic", I'm totally on board with you.

Apathy, Kool-Aid be thy drink.

Hey, the Av's are 2-1, so at least I have that going for me...

That's cool. I've got the Royals and Green Bay to tide me over until Nebraska figures out they've made yet another hiring blunder...

How so? Could you explain what it is that you think will get us easily winning 9-10 games?

reading this thread just reminded me that a very large minority would be happy with down years with some championship years mixed in but yet when a down year hits, they dont want to wait for the championship years. color me perplexed.
