If we could get a do-over - who would you want running (D/R) for President?

Most everyone here can agree that our two candidates are maybe not the best our union could have nominated in their respective parties.

I'd love to see who we'd rather have. "Pie in the Sky", the "if only"s' ... no limits on creativity! Who would you have liked to see on the Republican and Democratic tickets?

I was all for Bernie, if only because he was forward thinking and had no real party affiliation. Can't say I have a dream candidate who isn't running in mind.

I think a Kasich/Rubio ticket, or a Rubio/Rand Paul ticket ( or Kasich as VP) would have been dynamite.

To lessor extent a Rubio/ Susana Martinez (NM governor) might have appeal. But it might be seen as too pandering to the Hispanic vote.

Rubio/Nikki Haley (SC Gov) also. As you can tell Rubio was my 1st choice.

Dem side- I think the Dems would have owned the election wt Elizabeth Warren. Bernie people would like her, she is younger, not as wacky, and you still have the first female nominee. She has a 'clean' image. No scandals that I know of.

Personally I could see myself voting for Jim Webb if the repubs came up wt a Trump or similar.

Same. Bernie's pretty crazy and some would argue wrecklessly progressive, but so what? Anything wildly outlandish would never be fulfilled in our checks-and-balances government anyways, so why not go with the cleanest, most consistent, decent and moral record of virtually any Presidential candidate in history?

I liked Bernie on a personal level and his honest passion. He's got to be burning inside regarding the DNC working wt the Clinton campaign. Policy wise - pretty far out.

Of those that ran.

Republicans - Kasich. He was the only adult in the room on more than one occasion.

Democrats - Bernie. Easily.

Those that didn't run

Republicans - Brian Sandoval

Democrats - Biden, Warren

I have to agree with Fru ... although I also respected how Jim Webb conducted himself, I don't know a whole lot about him, but from what I do I'd bucket him with Kasich.

Bernie.

Those who didn't run:

Biden

Warren

Don't have enough knowledge of Republicans to have an option on that.

Yes, on Biden. Forgot to add him on the Dem side. I wonder what goes through his mind if he has any regrets for not running based on current events?? He'd be defeating Trump and would not have Hillary's baggage

Rubio was my choice.

He was my choice if I had to suffer a Republican to win
