****Illinois Game Day Thread****

Anyone saying refs don't affect games can eat a rooster. Anything close to a penalty was called against Nebraska, the spot for us was always two yards short. And nothing was called the same on the other side. The only winners of this game was the zebras and you can guarantee they made bank. God damn.

stop being dramatic, we just lost a game against a ranked squad in OT.

If we have a senior in high school caliber kicker we win this game

if raiola doesnt air mail a wide open guy in the end zone with a few ins left, we win the game

Sure, tons of s#!t to clean up. our special teams coverage was absolutely attrocious, our d line didnt do s#!t and our linebackers looked slow af.

yet we still shoulda won.
How we don't have a kicker than can kit a god danged FG consistently at this point is 100% on our coaches, but i agree with everything else.

Again screw these refs. Got to hold the flag and be cautious when it's Illinois but no problem throwing on Nebraska. Over and over and over and over

Not only have we not scored in overtime since 2014, we have not gotten a first down in overtime in eight tries.

Combined 20 total yards.

Zero points.

All losses.

Four different head coaches.

Six different quarterbacks.

I was surprised at how quickly we lost discipline when they had the ball in the red zone on a few of the plays. A qb rolling out got  everyone running to the qb and left guys wide open.

Bielema came to Nebraska to stick it to Rhule and he did. Bielema showed swagger, Rhule’s body language was that of someone with no confidence. One team came out to win and the other thought they could sleep walk to a win. Deja vu…1-6 in close games since 2023.
