I'm really starting to get annoyed.

Your logic defies me completely.

Change for change's sake, blindly tossing things up and doing things the desperate way? No. Bo's said time and time again, we believe in what we do, we stay the course.

That's how you build a program, not tear everything up and hit the panic button any time you ever hit rough sailing.
So your logic suggests that Bo would be a pioneer for making a QB change? Considering our current status is it so illogical and ridiculous that Green get a chance to start 1 game and maybe does well?

"Because I am fairly sure that it was CALLAHAN's call as to who started at quarterback. Not Watson's."

You have no proof of that carlfense. Fairly sure? I'll put it better than that. Watson was the offensive coordinator when Nebraska choose Keller over Ganz and didn't even give Ganz a chance. I'm a little more than "fairly sure" about that. Many of us are "fairly sure" that Green needs some playing time. What are you all so scared of. That you may be wrong or that Green might throw 3 picks?
Uh huh. You think Callahan (who wouldn't even let Watson call plays for most of the season) lets his OC pick who starts? That's ridiculous. You have even less proof than I do.

And no. I am not scared of Green. I've said in this thread several times that I would give him a shot.

What are you so scared of? That the coaches know more than you do?

Everyone wants to win. Nobody is happy that we're losing. But let's remember that we're all Husker fans.

Recognize that a fair portion of these posts are coming out of frustration, and when we start winning again let's all slap each other on the backs and have a beer. What do you say?

Guys here's something to think about...

as bad as Lee is.. Green must be REALLY bad at this point to not even earn a couple snaps in the game. I don't understand why you guys think putting him in would make a change for the better. He makes REALLY dangerous throws as seen in the TT game.

Lee is obviously outperforming Green in practice.

Agreed.

Of course this all out of frustration and this is my way of venting. This is nothing against Zac Lee, the coaching staff or even anyone on this board, is it so far fetched an idea that Green should a get a shot to start 1 game? I'm not convinced that just because Lee was named the starter that he gives us a better chance to win.

I came into this season hoping Green could redshirt. Now I'm wondering if he shouldn't get his chance, too.

We're not going anywhere this season. Might as well get the future of our program some reps.

PS - Completely unrelated....

I live north of the airport here in Lincoln. It's pretty cool to hear the fighter jets take off from the National Guard base over here. And we recently got a couple of Apache Longbows over here, like in the last couple of weeks. Those mamma jammas sound like no other aircraft, and when they fly over... it's breathtaking. That is one tough looking airframe.

Armed Forces = whole lotta awesome :thumbs

Atleast Green came into the TT game and made some plays and moved the ball. Green was also thrown into a tough situation and did fairly well for a true freshman. Took some gambles and provided a spark.

My biggest problem with the coaching staff is not that they burned the redshirt but why even stick Green in during the 3rd quarter and then again in the 4th and insist that there is no question on who the QB is? I just don't see how the staff does this, then doesn't expect a controversy? And then not even give Green a series in the next game? His moves just don't make sense..

So far..I feel pulling Green's redshirt has been a mistake.

I was hoping Watson would use him like Florida used Tebow his Freshman year..a few plays every other series to provide a spark.

I never stated that I know more than the coaches. I questioned why his redshirt was burned for mopup duty and not given a chance when it is obvious that the offense needs a spark. He should have had a shot last weekend. And as to your smart assed remark about knowing more than the coaches please reread my original post in this thread. Discussing something with you is starting to be a waste of time.

Finally a voice of reason. Why even tease us with Green and then suggest that he's not ready and Lee is. If you're going to play him at least put him in a position to make a real difference in the game.

Sometimes I almost feel like Bo is keeping with Lee just to show everyone else that he will NOT be influenced by anyone else's opinion (i.e. the fans). I would be horrified if this was the case but it does kind of seem like it doesn't it? He burns Green's redshirt and he doesn't give him a shot at playing in a game just dying to be won. Obviously we should have blown out ISU with Lee's play but still...

That's exactly what I've been suggesting and posters say I'm illogical or I need my head examined. Let's say Green starts this saturday throws 3 int's, we lose 5 fumbles and lose 9-7. What's the fricken difference. Give the kid a shot to start if he's terrible and we get blown out it would shut me and other fans up about it.

You don't think that Green should have had at least a series? We burned the kid's redshirt...why not give him one series and see what happens?

nope. not in a two point game.

a close game is NOT where you insert a backup.

green will get some chances, there's plenty of football left.

he'll get more opportunities to display his skills. if he grades better than lee in practice, he'll start.
