Immigration Ban

The line of thinking is that these atrocities will deter any one from crossing the border illegally with their family. Plain and simple this philosophy doesn't work. Illegal crossings are up despite the inhumane treatment. To continue down the same path is insanity, unamerican, and utterly inhumane. People need to be jailed for these human rights violations.

 
Yeah, but these are kids not adults.  They don't need to be clean.  And living in tight quarters and being uncleanly has no detrimental effect like lice.

 
Why don't we combine prison reform and immigration reform? This may be a pie in the sky idea but we have 2.2 million Americans incarcerated currently. Why can't we lower the number of Americans incarcerated freeing up facilities to be used as border detention? At this point I'm just trying to get the kids a bed to sleep on.

I will say though I have a hard time seeing progress when both the prisons and detention centers are privately owned and run for profit. We need to get that out of our prison/immigraton system. No good comes of people running these places for profit.

GOP answer: Of course they’re going to lie about their conditions. They want to live tax free in the U.S. sucking on the government teet.
