In which Ulty challenges Ric Flair to a battle of wits. For rep points.

I realize that it is totally douchey to admire your own stats, which is why I put this thread in the Woodshed so you can all call me out for my douchebaggery, but I noticed something peculiar just now. When I look at the total rep points among all posters, Ric Flair suddenly shot past me, whereas when I had looked a few weeks ago, I don't recall him even being on the same page. I looked on today's leaderboard, and as of this morning, he was at +12 for the day, while StPaul was in second place with +6. Looking at Ric Flair's page, he only had three posts in the last 24 hours with only a single rep point earned, and his last few days of posting show many posts with only a single +1 earned (and a few with +2), while earning lots of eye rolls and sad faces. 

This leads me to the conclusion that some Ric Flair fanboy is giving +1s to a whole bunch of older posts, or Ric has a sock puppet account. 

Even though I do not post very prolifically and therefore cannot accumulate a ton of rep points based on volume alone, it is unfathomable that a poster of Ric Flair's caliber is worthy of skyrocketing past me. And I am not even concerned about his political views, it is more about his incivility and posting style. I am contending that his rep points are not earned, and I seek to remedy this nonsense by earning more points (even though posting simply for that purpose is admittedly juvenile).

However, since I believe in the free market, as I am sure @Ric Flair does, I challenge him to a battle of wits, with the rest of Huskerboard serving as judge and jury, with rep points as the prize. 

Here's how it will work: I invite any of our other Huskerboard colleagues to pose a question, something that is debatable, based on opinion, something philosophical perhaps. Test our moral values, test our thought processes and logic. Any topic will do. Then we shall respond, and you will vote with rep points. 

Do not downgrade Ric Flair because of his political views, simply judge based on the merits of the argument. Although I often pop in to P&R threads with a side comment, I am typically not one to post sources or begin any deep arguments. There are more intelligent posters than myself with whom such a contest against Ric would not be fair, but since we both post sporadically and don't put much thought into our content, this might be fun. Plus I don't understand having fewer rep points than him.

If you think I'm being ridiculous, let me know. Otherwise, give us some questions to begin the battle, and let's start earning some points. Who is going to pose the first question?

Now that Stormy Daniel's is again doing porn, will it enhance or detract the fapping experience given her recent political snafu if you will.  Follow up, dry rub or lube?

Not really a philosophical question or something that is good debate fodder...but I didn't know she was still doing porn, I thought she looked kind of old for that. But it was clear that her recent time in the limelight was more a publicity stunt for her own recognition that anything else, so it makes sense that she would capitalize on it. Nevertheless, for a brief moment she seemed like one of the most important people in the political universe. In another day, her very presence on the scene would have destroyed a presidency, but Republicans don't hold dear certain values such as fidelity, integrity, honesty, or consent any more.

 
FWIW - Ric Flair does have a fan boy who runs around +1'ing pretty much every single thing he posts. Said poster has been a member since 2017 but, in the last month, has more +1's of Ric's posts than he/she does actual posts.

It also does not appear to be a sock. Just somebody who really enjoys his opinions but doesn't want to actually voice them in P&R.

We shouldn't. It's pointless. But I found it fascinating that when the board went through its upgrade a few weeks back, there was so much consternation about the new emojis and what they mean. And people still get bent out of shape in many threads and forums if someone dares to give you the eye-roll thing, so they are obviously paying attention to these responses. So when I started to look at the numbers, and Ric Flair's rapid rise up the chart, I grew suspicious. But to answer your question, no one should really care, except for the entertainment value of it. Which is why we are here. Having said that, does my answer garner a point?

That is fascinating indeed. I wish I had a groupie to validate my old posts. But on the other hand, you would have to sift through a lot of inane drivel to get to something that is actually intellectual stimulating. But then on another other hand (if you had three hands), Ric is not exactly earning points based on his intellectual musings, either.

I am probably responsible for 1/3 to 1/2 of your rep. As you know, I find the things you say to be intelligent and entertaining. I support that kind of thing.

 
We have several posters who choose to no longer voice their opinions in P&R because it's a 'liberal think-tank,' 'biased,' etc., etc., etc. Some are claiming victim status and have ostracized themselves from the forum. Their method of retaliation is essentially a guerilla-like tactic of just +1'ing Ric's posts since they don't have the gumption to say what he says out loud.

I can name three of them off the top of my head whom I would consider the primary +1'ers but, at the end of the day, I don't think who they are really matters. They're voiceless drudges.

I don't think I would be alone in saying that more conservative voices would be welcome. But debate should be civil, and arguments should be based on facts, logic, and evidence. Snarkiness goes with the territory, but anyone trying to be a victim on a message board is just rubbish.

The answer is Yes. It is quite unfortunate, as being an insufferable s#!thead is generally tolerated on this board to a certain extent, but dishonesty and inconsistency is certainly going to be called out.
