Injury updates

This could be a real battle of a game. Starting QB messed up hammy, backup QB messed uphand/wrist, 3rd string still RS, emergency QB fragile.

So do ee have a strong wildcat package for Ozigbo and Newby?

DPE would be a better possibility at the wildcat QB, as that's what he did in high school.

If he has a broken hand and is out, I would expect Riley to address the situation today in his press conference.

I think this would be different than a hamstring issue like TA had where there is a small chance he could make it back.
Not sure about that. Apparently the team was told last Sunday that TA would not be playing against Maryland but the coaches played it all week like he still might. Might be gamesmanship or whatever but they seemed to not want to give away how injured he really was.

That's why I typed my last sentence. I'm shooting from the hip here. But, it's very possible that Riley tells Fyfe on Sunday he is "the man" so he has that mindset all week and also prepares the team for the fact Fyfe is probably the starter. But....a hamstring is something that is possible to get over enough to play. So, with the media and fans, he didn't say anything because it is possible Tommy could have still played.

With a broken hand/wrist in a cast (guessing here) it's pretty much set in stone he wouldn't be playing and no real reason to hide it. Also....it's pretty hard to hide it if Fyfe is walking around campus with a cast on.

AGAIN.....I don't know if he has a cast or not. Just throwing that out there for discussion as to how his response to this could be very different.

fwiw...my son was a high school QB. he broke both bones in his left wrist (non throwing arm) on the first series of the first playoff game his senior season. he had them wrap his wrist and he played the rest of the game and threw 5 tds. he wore a soft cast for 2nd round of playoffs...unfortunately they lost that game but the broken wrist did not keep him from playing.

I was just told by someone who lives in GI that Fyfe had left wrist surgery yesterday
GI is kind of a big town
