Iowa Rivalry

Well living in SoCal I will take anything I can get to see a Husker game. Truly would like to see us move to the Big Eleven and really make it the Huge 12.

If you have the option to order college gameplan, you should do it. It's over $100, but with the amount of face time the Big Red will get this year, it will be worth it.

Yeah, I get both as well. College football from Gameday all the way past midnight with games on the West Cost. I can't wait til the start. I'm sick of all these boring sports. I like baseball, but I'm not a hardcore fan.

Personally I would rather watch exhaust fumes up close from a bad running diesel than watch a baseball game.

I am into more adventuresom sports. Too boring for me. I really only like college football as a normal sport.

I come from Motocross. Race mountain bikes, road bikes. Enjoy PBR, and extreme fighting.

Just can not get into baseball at any level, nor basketball.

I love the X Games, and that's coming up soon, so I will watch that to keep me occupied.

But I love baseball, because the CWS comes here every year, so I go to that.

UFC and PRIDEFC!! :horns2 i watch CONTACT sports, not so much though

I taught Tommy Clowers how to ride and race a motorcylce. He could not do motocross but seems to make a good living doing the vertical stuff.

I worked with Robby Gordon. Kid could not race motocross without killing himselft, got in a off road truck and set the world on fire. Does not fit in with NASCAR too well either. To much attitude.

I ran Kawasaki's amateur moto cross program for three years, and got a lot of the top kids started into MX. Kyle Lewis, Jeff Emig, Robby Renaud, Swink, Brown, a local from Omaha by the name of Denny Stevenson.

Coached and trained two Olympic Mountain Bikers. Greg Orovitz, Floyd Landis used to race for me on mountain bikes.

So most of my interst is in the two wheeled side of life.

But none of it compares to the lover for Nebraska football and college football in general. Nothing like it!!!!!

Yeah, in the Big XII you get the occasional good team, but in the Big "11" you're guarnteed a GREAT team every season. It would definately be a more exciting season to say the least.
And how many National Championships does the big 11 have in the last 20 years? The Big 12 has 3 in only 10 years of existance. Go back 20 years further, to the big 8 and Nebraska has 2 more, plus CU one. I would argue that on most occasions, the Big 12 is every bit as tough as the big 11. Right now, the Big 12 is top heavy, it will level out soon!!

It might not have as many titles, but it has so many teams with history. Sure the Big XII has OU, UT, and us, but the Big 10 has Mich, Ohio State, Penn State, and even Wisconsin in the mix, plus the Iowa game. If you could make it through that schedule, you would be guarenteed a shot at the title.

You're right eventually the Big XII will level out, but wouldn't it be great to play an Ohio State in Lincoln every now or then, or maybe every year. That would be really exciting.

Big XII owns the little 11. NEBRASKA alone has dismantled Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan St, and we beat Michigan, and penn st smoked us but at least vengeance was ours the next year.

I wouldnt mind playing Ohio St. We havent played them since the 50's. But for an non-conference rival, i just dont see how it could work. Iowa would be the best bet, since we used to play them regularly, back in the day of course. But Iowa already has a Big XII rival in Iowa St, and they have their own Little 11 schedule. I just dont see them agreeing to 2 Big XII teams in non-conference play.
