Iowa - What Did We Learn?

I learned it’s never too late to lose the game in regulation.  I thought maybe we crossed the ‘humanly possible’ threshold at the 25 second mark with the ball…but I should’ve known.

jesus man.  What a bunch of losers we are.

I don’t think I learned anything. I got my hopes up again after a win like always.

GT just did the same thing as us. Fumbled it on their own 35 with under 2 mins left up by 7. I guess crappy teams intimidate themselves out of wins.

Two major special teams blunders were the difference. Chunked snap/hold and the punt return debacle. 10 point swing.

We went into Iowa City and played their game. Just like papa Farentz wants. No one should be shocked by the result
I don’t think their game was to get outgained 2-1.

and check your math.  That would be a 6 point swing.

The culture still sucks. We have not shown and strides in culture and the ability to win one score games.  We continue to make special teams mistakes and costly turnovers.  How is that an improvement in culture?
The culture still sucks because we have 8 single digit guys on defense that aren’t held accountable and kept playing when they missed tackles and played the wrong coverages.  The secondary has been dog sh!t for most of the year.  During chasing 3 I always thought it was a terrible sign that Rhule was calling out the entire defense and making them leave the practice field…it didn’t work…

The Huskers are just like a car with an automatic transmission: no clutch.

We have a weird love affair with OCs that outsmart themselves.

Wisconsin's defense must be awful.

The way our defense played, they deserved better.

I better not hear any more about playing Oklahoma in the bowl game.  We will get destroyed.

We need to open up some of that loose change for assistants and grab some big boys.

foley obviously cannot teach or recruit.

We can have a carousel of coaches, but the culture still sucks.  There is no will to win in this program.  Dropped balls, botched special teams plays, the QB fumbling late in the game when its the last thing we need.  This is the same crap that has been happening since 2017.  We have pretty much the same 2024 season as we did 2023 except we got to play the worst Wisconsin team in years at home.

I said it a few weeks ago, Raiola isn't that good. He is still missing open targets. He has improved since DH has taken over as OC.

Raiola will get better.

We still find ways to lose games.

Defense kept us in this game.

1) B1G reviews are a coin toss. Doesn't matter what actually happens. You don't know what they'll decide.

2) Fire Ed Foley

3) Neyor needs to make the easy catches.

4) Rhule needs to see #3 and fire Ed Foley.

5) Dana got cute in the 2nd half and it cost.

That's starts at the very top.

Papa Farentz doesn't care if he gets outgained 5-1.

And you are correct, they only scored a fg on the turnover instead of a td. 6 point swing. How many did we lose by?

Neyor also doesn’t make the hard catches either. So he makes up for it.
