Is that statistic ACCURATE?!

I'm watching the USF/Florida-Atlantic game on ESPNU and they showed that a USF defensive end George Selvie has 10.5 sacks this season and showed how it pertained to the sack totals of some TEAMS . . . Nebraska was number 2 in the NCAA in sacks with 6 so far?

Well according to Elmo About sacks: “The most overrated statistic in football is sacks. That stat was generated by Lawrence Taylor and NFL guys… If you’re going to face a passing team, what will really decide if you’re a good rush team is if every six times he throws the ball you are affecting his throw….

I was trying to find a list of teams leading in sacks but a Google search was inconclusive . . . and REDSTEEL, I suppose I would have to agree with that quote.

but according to elmo, sacks don't really matter. unless you beat 2 top 10 teams and are ranked 6 after only being in existence for 10 years. then they kind of matter.

oh, and when the QB is on his back for a 5 yard loss, then they matter.

and i guess when it's 3rd and 6 and a sack happens and the other team has to punt. then it matters.
