Jason Peter on Bo Pelini

wow, what a douche.

Really? Can't say he's entirely wrong. Strong personalities tend to elicit two different types of teams. Very good, disciplined teams, or teams that just get burned out by the style. Don't think Pelini has shown either one. Yet.

Peter has been against Bo the second he stepped in the door. He does nothing but bash this team and think that just because he was on some of the best teams ever that he has the right to say what he wants. I would love to try and see him coach a football team. He is so full of himself it is ridiculous.

What's the motive for his hatred then? Because he was fired from a radio station gig, does the guy got anything else going on? Or does he just care about the program. Here nor there, doesn't really matter, he's getting attention just based on who he is. But that doesn't mean he's wrong.

He is absolutely right. Bo's demeanor has a serious negative effect on the players. One of the many negative effects would be losing focus. It affects their mindset. I'm sick of people defending him. Bo is the main problem. I understand wanting your coach to have that fire, but Bo does it in a toxic way. I'm telling you, look at a majority of successful coaches. NFL or college. They are calm, cool and collected and display the right amount of fire at the right time. Bo is toxic.

Have you ever watched Nick Saban coach? If you have, you'd realize what you just said here is way off mark.

As someone pointed out, however, the difference is that Saban is older and far more experienced, and has a championship tied to him. He gets away with it. Saban is even worse than Pelini at times, yet I don't see people calling him a toxin. Why? Because he wins, but he also has a lot more reason to win because of his experience, his experienced coaching staff and the wealth of talent he has. Pelini doesn't have any of those three things, so he's doing what he can.

Also, it wasn't very long ago people were wanting Jason Peter to be in some sort of administrative role back when Bo was first hired.

Bo isn't toxic, but he doesn't do himself or NU any favors in the PR department.

For all the mocking of Mike "I'm a man" Gundy's infamous rant, his record and recruiting appears to have been positively effected since that event.

It is very hard to say that Bo's fiery demeanor has benefitted NU on the recruiting front.

There is a fine line between being "crazy" but positive looking to recruits and recruit's parents (Gundy), and just looking like a lout.

Time will tell how it all works for Bo.

Jason Peter needs to shut his mouth and support his alma mater. If you don't think that we are heading in the right direction, just sit back and wait. I am confident that you will be proved wrong.

Yea lets just sit back and wait till our schedule ease's up, then Bo will be Jesus Christ himself because we were able to beat Purdue and Indiana, instead of OSU and Wiscy. Once the schedule rotation starts.

Since when is 17 games a measuring stick for football teams? When Doc Sadler wins his next game, we should say he is 1-0 in his last one game and is doing well. I don't know what you are trying to get at with Peter in an admin role at one time, other than he might be a tad butthurt that he isn't in that position currently. He surely isn't making a case for himself if he wants a position in the athletic dept anytime soon, I would think .

This statement is getting flak as much for the name attached to it as its content. I'm a big Bo supporter, and I think Peter is out of line calling Bo an a$$ publicly, but he has a point.

The fastest way to put Jason Peter in his place is for Bo to start doing the things he says he preaches. I'm not seeing that right now.

When was the last time anything like that happened? All you ever hear Bo says is that we didn't execute, we gotta clean this up and that up, he never says anything positive about the team. Since when is 17 games a measuring stick for football teams? When Doc Sadler wins his next game, we should say he is 1-0 in his last one game and is doing well. I don't know what you are trying to get at with Peter in an admin role at one time, other than he might be a tad butthurt that he isn't in that position currently. When was the last time anything like that happened? All you ever hear Bo says is that we didn't execute, we gotta clean this up and that up, he never says anything positive about the team. Kid pick up on that stuff.

I don't agree with this. I hear Bo praising his players WAY more than cutting them down. When he talks about "execution" and "fundamentals," when's the last time you heard Bo attach a name to that critique? When he talks about who's "a good football player," how often do you hear a name attached to that? Bo supports his players, I don't think there's any question about that.

I understand that it maybe have been taken from last season's late slide, with the martinez injury, etc. Its still bothersome, more than likely because its going to be a long offseason, again.
