I think we just figured out why Larson exited. 
 

and hello to DBK.  Only the 4th head coach.  I think the timing was right on this. Cook was looking pretty tired towards the end of the season

DBK is definitely qualified, but I expected a national search when JC inevitably retired.  Maybe there was behind the scenes.  I can't shake the Osborne->Solich vibes.

DBK is already an elite head coach with 8 years of record at a different school to prove it. There's absolutely zero Osborne->Solich vibes here except that she is an alum and used to be an assistant coach here a decade ago.

Edited since I’m hoping you think we hired Kelly Hunter and not comparing a coach that just went to the National Title Game to Solich.

She is more then qualified.  She has taken Louisville to the tournament every year with 2 National runner ups.  Her record is 203-44 in her 8 years.

I was getting the vibes.  So you're saying I wasn't?  Good to know.  I'm aware of DBK's impressive resume which is why I stated she was "definitely qualified." There also was no coaching search--like with Solich.  So, this in addition to the other two similarities you pointed out, Osborn to Solich was the first thing that came to my mind.

I'm well aware of DBK and she checks all the boxes.  In no way did I compare DBK to Solich.  How many other times at NU has there been a retirement and new coach announcement on the same day?  No search, new coach was an alum and former assistant.
