I thought we had the best team in the country this past year.

I was disappointed that it didn't end with a championship.

Now I'm really disappointed that we couldn't send him out on top.

I was gone for a few hours for a kids event and then looked on X and was shocked to see this news. I honestly thought he would go another couple of years, but regardless, the man is a legend and changed the trajectory for the sport of volleyball forever. I wish him the best of luck in retirement and am excited to have Dani on board!

I'll be interested to learn when the team knew. I gotta believe Cook was honest about his plan with that latest transfer.

According to the AD show. They both told their respective teams at the same time today. To limit leaks. 
 

Cook told Dannen last Thursday.

The all of a suddenness.  I think a decorated coach like that would have got a proper send off. I thought he would have coached Harper Murray all the way through her college career at the very least.

I'm sure it's just "all of a sudden" to us.  He has been thinking about this for a long time.  I'm even guessing that he at least had hinted to the AD about it during the season.  He may have even had discussions with Dani to see if she's ready to come back.  I know coaching hires can be fairly quick. But, my suspicion is that it really wasn't just all of a sudden done in 5 days without at least some discussion before this.
