Sure no one wants to be 3-6 right now, but this was coming regardless the coach.
Idiotic statement of the year award goes to... "NebHawk"
Actually, he's right. The culture that Pelini was fostering and his less than stellar recruiting effort make it inevitable. Unless a change was made, sooner or later this was coming.
HAHAHA! If Pelini's record was proof that he couldn't get over the hump, then it was certainly proof that he would never go 3-6.
Your statement moved Nebhawk's into second place.
You hold up Pelini's W/L record here like it is some sort of Holy Grail. Sorry but I don't share your views on this and many other things and I'm ok with that.
Pelini's record speaks for itself but his record goes far beyond his W/L record which honestly, was pretty damn good. His record is permanently enshrined in youtube videos of his side line rants. His record is permanently enshrined in audio recordings of his profanity laced tirades against the fans and his employers. His record is permanently enshrined in epic losses and poor run defense. His record is permanently enshrined in the toxic culture he left behind. His record is further tainted by the fact that talent wise, this team is worse off than when he got here.
That's a mischaracterization of my view. It's not a Holy Grail. But it is pretty impressive that he's one of only two D1A coaches to have never won fewer than 9 games in a season.
I was only commenting on the fact that you and your ilk think his record proves that he would never win more than 10 games. But somehow it doesn't prove that he would never lose more than 4. It's inconsistent. But you bigredboard guys certainly have a unique perspective when it comes to logic and consistency.
I don't think his record proved much of anything. He certainly could've won more than 10 if he had stayed. He also could've lost more than 4 at some point. But there's no way in hell he would've lost 6 this year, and highly doubtful if he would've lost more than 1 at this point in the season.
