Does reliable rotational player solidifying our defensive front sound better?
Better, yes... still not where we need to be. We aren't good enough to be content with our starters and to be recruiting guys to give them breaks.

Maybe he is just the plan B for Coates? 
I believe these are 2 different players, as Coates is outside & Riley is inside.  We lost a lot on the D-line this year and what we have is young.  We lost some players and he is being added for depth.  I also think he has the body to add weight & strength.

I don't disagree with any of the above, except they are currently both of similar height and build. Coates looks much faster and athletic. I just wonder if we are really looking at 2 JUCOs here. I mean they also has Payne on a visit, so maybe.

Coates is 270 and Riley is 305.  I think we are looking for someone at 330 for the middle.  Riley seems to have some power, but not very quick.
