You know sometimes when I post it is like my browser times out and the post doesn't get recorded as a post, but still shows up in the thread. Wierd.

Seems like it is a 2 stage process: the 1st part actually posts your message, the 2nd part marks the thread as having a new post. It appears it is this 2nd part which fails giving the blank screen. Reloading the blank screen, posts your message again.
