Kinnie

Still.................if it's 3rd and 8 in the 4th qt at the Big House..................I trust Marlowe more than Kinnie right now............
Marlowe has played his heart out lately. That grab against Minnesota was really nice, he just seems to have a nails type demeanor. I know everyone keeps knocking his speed and want to see Jamal, all I know is that Marlowe always seems to make the play. I don't know if you can say that about anyone else on O beside Rex.

The consistency argument removes blame from the guy not catching the ball in his hands.
I wasn't trying to remove blame from the WR in question, just pointing out it possibly was more than just "Kinnie can't catch". There are more factors that we don't see on game day, but the receivers and QB go through every day in practice. If you watch the WR's reactions when the ball is on them, you can tell that consistency is a factor. Not the reason. A factor.
Hah! Glad you finally joined up! Took you long enough. Make yourself at home, ORS. I get your "factor" argument, and I don't want to say it's "NOT a factor." I just think it's more on the WR than the QB in that scenario.
Thanks for the welcome. Been lurking for a while, but am going to try to post once in a while too. Hard to find time nowadays. Can't figure out the subscription options here either.

I agree that it's more on the WR than the QB too. As I said earlier, general opinion is, if it hits your hands you better catch it. At this level anyway.

Kinnie is on his way out, so at this point it's really less of an issue with him.

The other guys are pretty young, and I think that with the new receivers coach that we have now these issues will be sorted out in time. Drops have not determined our two losses this season, so there's really no argument there.

Getting it sorted out by next season is what is really important at this point.
Really? go back and watch the NW game.

If Bell and Enunwa make those catches we win.

Exactly.

It wasn't just two drops either (as usual).

GBR!!

If anyone thinks Turner's comments on Martinez's throwing had an impact on his playing time - do you expect Kinnie to be on the bench after this...?...

“He throws a ball we need to catch,” Kinnie said. “It is what it is. We’re wide receivers, and we’ve got to catch the ball no matter how hard it’s thrown when it shouldn’t be, how high, no matter what. He’s the quarterback. He’s putting it there for us to catch, and we have to catch the ball.”
...they seem about identical to me. Bell running a bad route, dropped passes, our "leader" coming out and saying Martinez isn't throwing a good ball. They aren't on the same page at all.

I think you are forgetting the great balls that he had been catching in a few of the games. I think with our receivers it is all mental. When they are concentrated and playing loose, they can all make really good catches. BK has made a conscious effort to catch the ball with his hands this year instead of his body, as well as most of the other receivers, and that is why we are seeing much better play from our receivers this year in comparison to years' past. Are they still inconsistent? Yes, but they are coming along.
Umm...what!? That's one of the first things you learn when you start playing football!
