I’m posting my response to you here in the PRIVATE forum because I don’t feel the other members need to be involved in this but I believe you need their back-up so that is why you jumped on me the way you did in the public forum.



I’m NOT blaming you for my diminished “role” here. I don’t post very much because, and I know this might come as a suprise, but I spend most of my free time with my family and I try not to post at work because I came to the conclusion that it was stealing the companies money. Please don’t flatter yourself and take the credit for that, I know that might seem hard for your pompous assness but that is the truth. I will say this, that message you sent me the other day about stopping my nominating of someone for your little Starting Lineup was lame. If I want to nominate someone that doesn’t fit in with your douche club so be it. “Please stop nominating that dude.” YAWN!!!!



I also became a MOD (not a leader) on here as a favor to some friends (people I had ACTUAL in person interaction with not just a gaggle of folks from make believe internet land). As you can see those friends don’t post on here very much either.

All the work you put in on here as a MOD (not a leader) is commendable and you do fine work in most areas. I appreciate that but just because you want to spend hours upon hours on here is your choice but don’t expect others to have to follow that model.



As far as my posting, I don’t recall ever “bitching” about members in any of the public forums; I believe I only did that in the private Admin forum, but for some reason you needed to add that and throw it out there for all to see. I can only assume that was because of your need for acceptance with a lot of the people on here, which I believe you are old enough to be their parent or grandparent. It is like when you brag about your interaction with Huskers you see on the street (the numerous mentions of your leg humping Zac Lee).

You allow your ball cuppers to get away with crap that you don’t allow the folks that don’t conform to your idea of husker bliss (like your spooning buddy Paul Crewe calling people Twat Troop, all school girl giggles from you on that one I’m sure or the crap with Walksalone from the other day where even he knew he earned a suspension but you let it slide).

If I don’t like the direction Bo Pelini is taking this program I have the right to say it. If I think Bo Pelini is a donkeys butt I have the right to say it. I can make all the snide comments I want about his averageness and what he has not delivered since arriving here “Nebraska’s back and we aren’t going anywhere”. This is an open forum; people have the right to not be happy. Not everyone shares the same views as you and your little buddies; however differing views aren’t welcome anymore. It has to be “Martinez is great” and “Bo is great” or your people treat people like they are retarded. Who wants to be a part of that(unless you are zoogies and I think he likes arguing with you guys a lot more then I do and God bless him for that)? I know I don’t and there have been plenty of others that don’t want to be either.



Your arrogance will be your downfall and possibly the boards or maybe it won’t and I’m in the minority. I will say this though you will see more posters leave because of you and your little sheep. Eventually the sheep will leave to as they get older and you will be here at 75 sitting there talking about how you ran into Zac Lee’s kid at Super Saver.



Please don’t think that I am mad at you because I’m not. I don’t invest that much time and energy in that kind of stuff, especially not towards people who aren’t even real to me (unless I’ve met you in person you are just part of make believe internet land).



I may come around to see a response or I may not I haven’t decided but anyway enjoy the board and what it has become.

Has anyone else noticed that just about everyone we talked about (not FLU) in this thread joined HB in the fall/winter of 2011? Corresponding with the fall of huskerpeida, I believe. What the heck was going on over there?!!? Ha!

Did anyone noticed that when the "new" folks came over, they were immediately gang raped by all of these fuciking idiots?

You know what's really sad? You used to be a great contributing member of this board. I've looked back at your posts from before. You ran little contests, you helped out, you did stuff. Over the last several years, that's all changed. You can call it the "knapplcboard" and gripe about me all you want, but your changes predate my involvement here. I'm not to blame for your diminished role here.

As a Mod you should be a leader. You should be helping out here as much as possible, but you don't. You do next to nothing. You post few times a day and when you do, you're just bitching about the members here, or making snide comments about Pelini or the team. You can try to blame me for that if you want, but it's all you.

FYI, this is newearth's response to this exchange.

It began with a completely unnecessary couple of nominations of redtillimdead, a known troublemaker whose account had to be suspended, in a couple of the Starting Lineup positions. I removed those nominations (they're in Hidden Posts in the Junkyard) and sent him this PM: "Please stop nominating that dude," which he deleted without responding to. He has since made two nominations of another person, FLU, who has so pissed off several people that they have openly talked about leaving the forum. I see zero reason to do this other than to piss on an activity that others find entertaining. That's an unnecessarily childish thing to do, but I have not brought it to the attention of any of the Admins, until now.

The point of the Starting Lineup is to entertain people and give them an "attaboy" in the dead period after the Bowl Games. It's intended to help drive traffic to the site and keep people posting when they would otherwise drift away. If you're not interested in the activity that's perfectly fine. But for God's sake don't go out of your way to make a mockery of it. You're just hurting the site by doing that.

Regarding the accusation that I allow some to get away with things and not others, everything is handled on a case-by-case basis. If you do not like how I Moderate this board, newearth, by all means take more of a direct hand yourself. You have the ability to warn and/or suspend walksalone. I see zero reason why you would call me out for not doing this while failing to do it yourself.

I have no personal beef with you. I think it's unfortunate that you have responded in this way, when on more than one occasion I have reached out to you, only to have you ignore me. I know that you are friends with either Eric, Chad, or both. As the friend of the owners, I would think you would want to do your utmost to help this site flourish. That has not been the case. Only you can answer why.

Newearth, I was the one who let walksalone slide on that one with a warning. It was his first or second warning, and he apologized privately after my in-thread warning, before I had delivered his warning PM, which I felt was sufficient.

PaulCrewe is really skating on some thin ice here with some of his snide remarks. He's pretty close to a warning from me, and if I see him directly go after someone I'll do that. I think we all tend to have different moderating styles, and that is fine - differences of opinion can be sorted out here.

I think an environment where alternate viewpoints are embraced, or at least not ridiculed, is important. It's rarely the case though, because the status quo in all sports forums is typically [Current HC is god] - unless things are going real bad, which is just an ugly situation all around.

But it is something to watch out for, definitely. An environment with little room for safe disagreement is what we want to avoid, and it isn't easy and we don't always do the best job we can at it, but it's good to have a reminder.

Last comment - we moderators are just volunteers, any time given to the board, however little, is valuable. We should set a good example when we are around, as the visible community leaders, and this board doesn't belong to any of us -- it is a lot bigger than that. We are but a mostly neutral presence filling a necessary role, beyond which we are just members like anybody else.

Guys, I don't know precisely what happened, and I hope it can be worked out. In particular, I hope that disagreements can be confined to this section. As zoogies noted, we need to present a unified base to the members. It makes our work easier.

Also - and I'm speaking in general and not to this particular situation - if you as a mod have a concern or issue with how the board is moderated (whether it's a policy decision by an admin or the way a mod is performing his duties), by all means let's discuss it here. If one mod feels another is out of line in some way, or if anyone feels that some policy is bad for the board, that means it needs to be discussed and worked out. Don't let it fester; let's get it resolved.

hmmmm, to joke or not to joke.

I've seen one mod leave here. I was kind of unsure just what was going on, kind of like now. I didn't like the feeling then or now. If there is a problem either discuss it with whom ever there is a problem and solve it or get the admin involved. I believe ETR was very clear when I was elected to this lofty office; don't change who you are and be on the board when you can to help stop problems. Now I can see this clearly; how do I see it? crystal, is there any other way j/k levity idk The newer mods have a skill set I won't even pretend to match up with. But Eric knows I'm computer challenged to say the least. And I don't seem to have the same vim and vigor I had a couple of years ago. I know I will just do what I can and if Chad or Eric think I've done enough and need to step aside; I will. Otherwise, it's just a day to day thing and everyone needs to do what they see as "their part".

I love the board and hate to see any more turmoil other than the normal forum stir ups.

I apologize, but I have not been around a whole lot lately. Dealing with a new job, a new baby on the way, my brother passing 5 months ago, and the trials and tribulations of being married with a toddler.

I see things much clearer now than I have at any point ever in my life. I love the Huskers, I love being right, but the constant debating and policing the board for those with incorrect opinions just doesn't hold any priority in my life anymore. To those that are getting too wrapped up in a personality conflict, or debates on their views of this program, I'd advise them to take a step back, take a deep breath, and then react.

I feel there is no merit in choosing sides here, regardless of who is right or wrong. I hope that everyone does what is best for themselves and their families and hopefully these differences can be worked out.
