Never said you did.
Edit. I'm trying to find the post that gave the reasons for the ban purge but can't. It was right around the time you quit being a mod, it was either you or zigs that gave the reason I think. Either way, it was because Polo had become a distraction and the main focus of the board etc. Well that and probably all the sock accounts used to give his buddies 30 some rep points per post. But when he exited he had become pretty pompous, in a nutshell that's the comparisom
I found where I explained what happened to polo, et al.
There was a disturbance. Many wept. The honorable took refuge in their strength while the weak cursed and gnashed their teeth.
From the ashes and charnel heaps a thing of hideous strength appeared. From this thing came a sound, at first that of a voice heard crying faintly in the wilderness, but soon it became a cacophony, as if we stood amidst a universe of noise and this was its chaotic center.
A light shone in the darkness. Many turned away - some out of fear, some because they were unable to hope. The light flamed like a thousand suns. Some were warmed by it. Some were burned.
There was confusion and much fear. Wild stories sprang forth of a man clothed in red whose eye could pierce all darkness, from whose mouth sprang doves and spears. The man provided refuge and dispossession in equal measure, doled out at the price of a question. The answer was known before the question was asked. There was a shield, 37 cubits in diameter, bossed with blazing bronze. Upon the shield were impaled both heroes and hard men.
At first many knew not that the shield was unclothed. Whereupon this became known, in secret alleys and byways, in copses and lairs, much discussion could be heard. There was a blaze of exultation and a river of lamentation, and the fire and water mingled and neither were quenched. A great reek arose, and amidst the fumes and foetors some danced and some despaired. A voice and a voice and a voice spoke, and though they whispered yet they shouted. And the shout was heard, and the great shield was employed once again, and yet more were impaled upon the shield, and the bronze ran with red, and yet shone ever brighter.
There came a yet greater time of consternation and the question was no longer asked, but wielded as a weapon. And though the shield was manifest, yet ever more was the question wielded.
From this time of consternation sprang forth again the man in red. At length he spake, and at length he explained. At once were his words mysterious yet always known, apocryphal yet attainable to all.
And while the question is yet asked, and while the shield yet shines in bronze and blood, the sun yet rises, and the snows fall and melt again, and lo! time marches ever on.
