And the cheerleaders were prettier and Coke only cost $.50. Walking to practice in a snowstorm uphill with no coat was just called "Tuesday".
Coke on campus!? Now I know you're joking.
To hear the stories surrounding Sam Kellar, Corey McKeon, and some other players from the Callahan era...

Pepsi didn't take over as the sole soda distributor until 1997, so Coke would have been on campus at the beginning of the 90s run.

I'm sure there was coke on campus but I doubt it cost 50 cents

A bit of sarcasm on my part.

There was still one Coke machine on campus when I went there (mid-2000s); outside the Lutheran Center on 16th Street.

Well, hell, I guess I'll wonder aloud as well then. So, our teams of the 2000's (so far) play harder, practice harder, are coached better, are better athletes and are better disciplined than the teams of the 70's, 80's and 90's... You guys have GOT to be pooping me. I'm NOT throwing shade over ANY of the past or current players, I'm a goddatt Husker fan thru and thru, but if I'm reading all this HIGH HILARITY correctly, we were FAILURES back then compared to the last 17 years??? Jesus Christ, PARTICIPATION TROPHIES FOR ALL! You trash the Peter's brothers all you want but I really CAN'T see very many NU players that played or practiced with any MORE passion! I can't even RECALL all the players names that literally would have DRANK SAND for Coach McBride or Coach Osborne back then... Give ME a break! Like I said, I ain't throwin' shade on our current roster (PROUD to have 'em) but don't piss down us grey-beards back's and tell us it's raining. GOBIGRED!!!

Someone doesn't understand the concept of teams playing against relative competition.

2002 Nebraska never played 1994 Nebraska, just a heads up.
