Larry the Cable Guy

First off, Larry the Cable Guy is hilarious but I have to ask - Did anyone see him trip over backwards on to his A$$ on a T-Mart scramble when T-Mart was ran out of bounds? I replayed it three times for the wife laughing my butt off the whole time. :corndance
Yeah, I saw Dan go down on the sideline as the play was heading over there. :tv

This bro isn't funny, and it's slightly embarrassing that he's a Husker fan

:yeah

Let's perpetuate our hick stereotype a little bit more please.
He's not a hick though. He's a normal guy who plays a character that's a hick. And anyone on this board would do that too if they were given as much money to do it as he is.

I never said he was a hick. I said he perpetuates the Nebraskan=hick stereotype. People around the country don't separate the real Larry (if that is his real name) from his act. They see a hick parading around in camouflaged Nebraska gear telling redneck jokes and equate that with real Nebraskans.

if they cant separate the man from the character and the character from actual nebraskans then theyre bigger idiots than larry has ever made us supposedly look like.

It's interesting how people "back home" react to Larry.

I liked him before I found out he was from Nebraska and I even liked some of his earlier stuff when he was Dan Whitney?

His LTCG character reminds me so much of a few people I grew up with and I'd never be ashamed of introducing them to anyone I know out here.

I wonder if it says more about you (how you react to being thought of as a bunch of "hicks") than anything about him..I met my best friend when I was a freshman at UNL and he resented our state being thought of as being a "football crazy" state even though I was thinking of walking on at the time.

Now when we talk about a half hour is spent just talking Husker Football...

Steven Wright is another of my fav. commedians, but I don't associate him with all New Yorkers or even many earthlings for that matter.

I first heard of LTCG when he would call in to Z-92 back in the day. That was what - early 90s? I think they used to say he was from the South back then, and I'm thinking Florida was where he was supposed to be from. Anyone remember that?

Like his act or not, you gotta respect the guy's foundation and efforts on behalf of charity.

Give him a break, just 'cuz you don't have a sense of humor... Opps, sorry dude, there I go being judgemental.
