Lattimore

Prayers go out to him and his family. I have seen some pretty bad injuries in my life. Joe Theismann, I thought was the worst. Then I saw the Tulane player basically break his neck, then the gruesome injury to Lattimore yesterday. The kid looked like he went into shock......then I see Tariq Allen get hurt. One play can change a players life....just one.

After all....it's just a game.

This really needs to go into other sports, but all of college football has huge respect for Lattimore so I'll leave it here for awhile. Terrible injury..............heart goes out to the kid.

Being of sqeamish stomach, I did not watch it. What happened (in this case, words don't paint a better picture, think I can handle the written account)?

His leg got caught up and hit, then he was swung over the top of the defender and as he was being flipped, his whole leg below the knee was just flopping all over the place. Definitely the most gruesome football injury that I've ever seen and it isn't remotely close. Theismann and McGahee have nothing on this.

Broken femur

Broken patella

Tore all four knee ligaments.

Yikes.

Truly one of the best kids in football, he is our Rex. Sad day for all there, both teams went to him and showed their concerns. The kid truly is loved by all that meet him. Worked so hard to overcome a major injury last year. Wish him luck, but figure his career in football is over.

Nasty, sounds a bit similar to Willis McGeehe (sp) of Ohio State a few years back, in the bowl game I believe, like his lower leg was at about a 90* angle from the upper leg?

Yep that was very good to see. What it is supposed to be about, not the hate that some bring into the games. Kids playing a game, giving everything for their friends, their teamates, the program and family. Hope he heals quickly, he deserves to for sure.

He tore EVERY ligament in his knee

AND

BROKE his FEMUR!

That just sucks...

It sucks for him, it sucks for SC, it sucks for the SEC, and it sucks for college football.

He had so much talent and he made an immediate impact his freshman year against the best defenses in the country.

Now he might never play again.

:lame

I saw a lot of outlets citing the same dubious source when reporting the femur+patella+4 ligament injury late last night, but none of that information was actually coming from anywhere associated with the SC athletic department. This morning, Spurrier was reporting that Lattimore had "only" dislocated his knee. The more severe injury report making the rounds last night seems to have just been an unfounded rumor.
