I am a little puzzled by this. We will now have 4 kickers/snappers on scholarship. But the coaches know 100x's more then I do. His first D-1 offer, you have to think he'll be N.

Guessing Miller will get a med hardship scholly and i dont believe those count towards 85.

This is true. Gabe is done with football and will go to med scholly after this year as the injury occurred this fall. Tough situation for the kid, happened while lifting.

Miller is done but technically Warrior is correct - Bondi, Foltz and Brown right now and this would be #4.

Guessing perhaps we missed out on a couple spots (QB, DE) so we thought it would be a good time to grab a specialist. Not that big of a deal but I thought Fulkenberry did a pretty good job perhaps we could have given the scholly to him.

Yup, I was counting Foltz, Brown, Bondi and this kid. Granted I have not looked at other team's scholly distribution, maybe it is in the norm to have 4 guys on scholly.

Pass. This is a bad offer. LS is a position that the walk-on program could easily fill, Josh Faulkenberry is a good example. Faulkenberry did well this year (I can't remember if he made a mistake), and he will be a sophomore. Gluhaich is way too small, both short and about 60 lbs light. I was good with Gabe Miller because at the time we were in need of a LS, and he was college ready both in technique and body type.

I know Riley is working with a short cycle, but they can do better. We are basically out of options for a second DE in this class, and they are wasting time and potentially a scholly on LS? They need to go full court press on some committed DE or JUCOs that have not signed LOI and forget about the LS.

Riley employs a full time special teams coach because he puts a high value on that part of the game.
Oregon St was ranked #55 in Special Teams Efficiencies this year, link. Hopefully, that value he puts on ST becomes tangible at Nebraska, which was ranked #2 in the same index this year.
