It's been awhile so I don't really remember what our stand has been on people posting links to their web site articles.  It seems like we've allowed some but maybe if they've asked permission first???  Can't remember for sure.

Yeah, I think this could be a nuanced topic, based on who is posting and what the link is for. However, I am not in favor of supporting this person's website, as their one and only post on Huskerboard has been to self-promote their external site. It should be removed, imo.

I agree with @Thanks_Tom RR that it should be removed.

I think exceptions can be made when the OP is sharing the article for the sake of generating honest discussion or fostering a productive conversation. But, joining the board and posting an article to your site, without any sort of context or 'hello,' feels like a cheap pageview grab. It doesn't even appear to be a Husker-related site, so this person likely has no interest in our community.

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of people peddling their sites here, and that goes back to before I was a moderator. I think it should be up to the community to decide what content belongs here and what doesn't.

If an exception is made for a specific poster to share content from their site in the future, my opinion is it should come with some sort of tag so the community knows it's NOT organic. A lot of content publishers/online communities do this through headline tags such as 'Sponsored Content' or something of that ilk.
