Making Chimichangas

Good call, Thanks_Tom RR. This probably does warrant some sort of penalty. Not that I think he'll learn from it.

The suggestion to execute the POTUS is especially troubling. Certain gov't agencies take that sh#t very seriously. To the point of investigating such threats made on message boards, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

 
I have issued a warning and a 30-day suspension. NUance, your comments would suggest to me that we should handle this issue as a significant matter of concern. Given his posting history, I doubt he will take the suspension well, but I tried to convey the gravity of his comment to him.

 
Thanks for handling that. I saw that status, and probably should have taken more action than I did. But a few days ago Making Chimichangas accused me of being insensitive to transgender people. I probably was. I had made a post in the "Is a Hotdog a sandwich" thread: (I said: "On another note, what's with this recent trend of calling things with wieners by other names??") I duly noted MC's point in his PM and moved my post to the Junkyard so as not to further offend.

When I saw his status a couple days later, I didn't want him to think I was coming down on him for calling me to task over the topic of his PM. So I responded to his status with a comment something like this: "You will be sorry someday that you mocked God."

No, he did not respond to anyone. I think he was just kicking the hornet's nest to see what he could stir up.
By the way, whenever I get in spats with members, I also try to avoid moderating their content for a short time afterward. I think it is the best way to avoid being accused of being vindictive or bias.

Happened across his account today. Everything I can find said it was a 30-day suspension but his account still says POSTING DISABLED.

I assume we're good letting him come back at this point??? Albeit with a short leash.

 
Hm. That's odd -- but it happens. I gave someone a 7-day suspension once that accidentally lasted a few months until he pinged me.

Let's allow him to return now.

 
It appears they've returned after the suspension and long hiatus. I'm glad to see they haven't given up on the board completely. It appears they're hashtagging all of their posts '#BeforeIAmPermanentlyBanned.' I'm guessing their vacation is a bit of a sore spot. I thought about saying something to them about it but, ultimately, I think they'll give up with the hashtag after awhile. Feel free to offer any thoughts on this.

 
I have to say... this is a somewhat ironic response after being called out for posting the word 'bukkake' in the football forum.

Can't say I'm surprised someone who thinks it's "funny" to post that word in turn feels like they are criticized more than others. Shocker.

 
Yeah it turns out tfree said it in another thread. I found it by searching their activity and then moved it to offending posts.

tfree apologized in the SF thread for it, too. I don't know - I think I'm just in a mood tonight. Seeing Chimi call us out for unfair rule enforcement, but then trying to justify saying bukkake because it's 'funny,' got to me.

I think you were spot-on with what you said in the thread - we can't catch everything.  I didn't even catch the word at first because I didn't know what it meant.  I googled it after seeing the replies and then moved several posts.

I don't look kindly on people trying to play the victim card like he was there.

 
She is coming out as a transgender woman. Plus, her first comment was that she just got back from the liquor store (so, drunk?). I think the status update spamming is to get attention. This has been said many times now, but I wish we could limit the number of status updates from a single member that appear on the homepage.

Agreed, we need to figure out a way to limit those things. I don't care that she is coming out, but I do have a problem with her openly asking the board to "get weird" with her on other messaging apps and using names like "fetishkink" as her name folks should search for. #facepalm
