Mavric

AR Husker Fan

Team HuskerBoard
Welcome, Mavric - glad to have you aboard! We started this thread so that we could kind of get to know everyone, and zoogies has deleted all the threads with the nasty comments about you. Took him days, but he's persistent.

To start off I'm Frank GoBell in non-Huskerboard life. Email is arhuskerfan@gmail.com. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or need something done. If we ever all end up together in one physical location, I'm the good-looking one.

My one piece of advice is that you really study how knapplc handles things - his mod style, so to speak. Then, do the opposite. Other than that, don't trust a word any of the other Mods or Admins say, other than me. They're shifty, beady-eyed people that envy me, the lot of 'em.

That's a lot of work and probably got rid of a lot of really good material. Sorry about that.

Yeah, I see where he likes to call people childish. I'll try to be more creative.

Thanks again for offering, guys. I'll try not to screw things up too badly.

Some boring stuff about me that you can ignore (of course, knapp already knows all this):

When I'm not Mavric, I'm Jayson Bishop. Lifelong Nebraska resident and Husker fan. I have a computer engineering degree from DONU. My 1997-2001 stretch in Lincoln was the beginning of the end of a long string of Husker dominance so apparently they couldn't keep things going after I wasn't there for every home game anymore. For the last nine years I've been the IT Manager at Midwest Electric in my hometown of Grant. Grant is a small (pop 1200) town in far southwest Nebraska - closer to Denver than Lincoln, thus the Bronco fandom. I didn't make very many Husker games between 2002 and 2011 but a couple friend and I went to together last year and got season tickets. Works out well because none of us are close enough to go to all the games but going to 2-3 per year is just about right.

If I'm not at work, I'm more than likely doing something sports related. I volunteed to help coach the local high school team for five years and ref some high school basketball but both those activities were cut back substantially with three kids to keep track of and a wife that is the head coach of the high school girls basketball team. I still watch as much high school and college athletic as I can and attempt to golf when the weather permits.

I didn't follow recruiting very much until I found this site but now I try to keep track of it pretty closely. I'll definitely try to keep an eye on things in there and see where that gets us. I have no problem with suggestions or criticism so feel free to let me know if I'm not doing something I should or doing something I shouldn't.

I spend a lot of time at my desk - both at work and home - probably more than I should. I've been know to get sidetracked on HuskerBoard from time to time and check my email frequently so if you need to contact me Jayson_Bishop@hotmail.com should get my attention before too long.

Thanks again for the offer. I do appreciate it.

I'm Lance, and when I'm not here posting 1,000 times a day I'm an Investigator with a real badge, even if it is made of tin and came from a cracker jack box. I often don't wear pants which explains why I'm such a hit with the ladies. I'm typically drunk when I post, which helps a lot with the Mod duties - at least that's my experience.

AR is a known cheat and a liar. Don't throw darts with him, don't play pool and "just for fun" put a couple dollars on it and don't let him take your sister to the dance no matter how much he promises to "be a gentleman." SHE'S STILL SCARRED, FRANK!

zoogies is, as you've probably figured out, a robot. There's really no other way to explain why he's a fan of the Patriots. He'll have shut down for a week or so to reboot the hard drive after today's game.

BIGREDIOWAN operates a small kidney resale operation in Bangladesh and posts here when he's not in surgery. Between me and you, I think he stole one of my kidneys. That "tattoo" looks an awful lot like a surgery scar, and I'm pretty sure that rohypnol wasn't out of date like he promised. Don't drink with him. Ever.

Let's see, that brings me to husker addict. He's 18, he's some kind of hacker whiz kid, and I think he helps Taylor Martinez write apps when he's not designing Starting Lineup avatars. He often mixes plaids with stripes. And we'll talk privately about how he gets "handsy." You get used to it.

Eric the Red was once a champion huntsman. His business went under when he refused to hunt anything but purple wildcats, which led him to founding his HuskerBoard empire. Today it's grown worldwide and he's kinda famous, which he believes gives him the right to grant himself prima nocta status with our wives. Another one to keep an eye on.

rawhide is like a gazillionaire and basically works here for fun. He spends a lot of time in his Lake Geneva home and eats his caviar with a golden spoon and is generally considered to be the most pompous of the Moderators. He'll loan you any amount of money you need, but the interest he charges compounds daily and it's not a good idea to skip a payment - his "associate" Johan the Breaker knows everyone's address here. He knows yours. Not joking.

Is that it? I think that's it. That's all I have time for right now. You'll find everyone's email on their profile page, so if you need to talk to any of us you should be able to get ahold of us that way. If you need to talk to me off site, just pick any email provider and send one to knapplc@whatever.com. I think I own all of them, everywhere.

. And 'skers fan till........

Ignore the whole gazillionaire thing; it's less than half that. Take your pick on which story to believe at your risk.

Oh yeah, welcome to the mod portion of the board. Lively bunch.

If you're really hard up for some fast cash and need it now You can reach me at Rick Vryheid 1911springfield@gmail.com that's hold close info

Welcome to the team Mavric!

First off Frank (AR) is a lawyer...................I don't think I need to go any further. Watch your back because he's probably already drawing up lawsuit papers on you as we speak and then he'll somehow "bill you" for the time he spent doing that!

Don't believe a word that Lance says, obviously you know him outside of this place............so you get what I'm talking about.

Watch out for Eric, he's from the N.E. and has "connections" so if you make him mad make sure your affairs are in order.

I'm Trevor, you may know more about me than I know or maybe you don't . I'm a police sergeant in the Des Moines Metro Area, lived here all my life. Married with twin 4 year old boys..................yes, I cry daily! I became a Husker fan because I started watching football in the 90's when I was in middle school, I think Frank was retiring from his first job then, and they were obviously the team of the times. I get asked how I became a Husker fan considering I was born and raised in Iowa and that's how it all happened. I'm a workout nut, but I'm dealing with a back injury that I think Eric caused somehow with his "connections". Franks suing me as we speak for this injury and Lance is investigating the entire thing.

Enjoy all the new buttons and options and don't hesitate to ask questions if you have any.

Oh yeah,

Don't worry about the LEO thingie with BRI; can't hit the broad side of a barn with a banjo. Plus he carries a pink duty weapon but it works in Iowa.

There's a buncha other mods and admin but I think the majority moved to Colorado in the last few weeks for some reason or other.

We need to start a thread somewhere (probably Husker Football) and let everyone know there's a new sheriff-- er... Mod in town.

Thanks for helping Mavric. Really the number think to watch is to post as many recruit threads that the Huskers are recruiting and be sure the template is used. Just keep it looking neat and then let the members do the rest of the work with updates.

Yeah, Nexus' format is pretty nice. I've used it in several threads I've made previously and most other posters are pretty good at using it now but I'll keep an eye on it.
