Members on Mod Preview

Hey all,

Should we keep a running list/discussion of which members are on mod preview so we can determine when to take them off if/when they've corrected the behavior? The origin for this is Hunter has sent me two messages asking why he's on mod preview. I explained the situation to him based on some of Mavric's warning comments, but I didn't really know what to tell him in terms of when he'll be let off outside of whether or not he corrects the behavior.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

I think it's helped some but it's kind of hard to tell right now.  I think all of them on Mod Preview right now are on there for constantly pooping in every thread but .... well.... there's a lot to be pooped on right now.

And, by the way, they all know why they are on Mod Preview.  They all got a message similar to this:

You seem to be more interested in stirring the pot and snarky one-liners than actual discussion.  
You are being put on Mod Preview so your posts will have to be approved before others can see them.
Let's try to contribute to the discussion in a productive manner.

In Hunter94's case he got a warning on September 6:

I think you need to try a new approach.  You're not contributing anything to the discussion.  All you're doing is taking every opportunity to complain about anything and everything.  There isn't any need for that nor is it doing anything productive.  
 
There are plenty of things to be unhappy or concerned about.  If you'd like to talk about something in particular and say why it's not good for the team, have it it.  But just to drop one-liners about how everything sucks everywhere isn't going to work.

Before being put on Mod Preview on September 12:

Since my last suggestion didn't seem to take, you are being placed on Mod Preview.  Your posts will need to be approved before the rest of the board can see them.

So the "doesn't know why" act is pretty disingenuous.

 
As for what the procedure is going forward, I'm really not sure.  I think they should stay there for awhile.  Even though it's kind of a pain having several of them on there.  But it's going to be pretty hard to determine if they've gotten any better, given the current state of Husker football.  

I guess for me I need to see actually discussion - especially from Hunter94 - instead of just one-line complaining.  And if that's all they continue to do, they can just be gone.

Yeah, specifically in Hunter's case, he claims he never saw your first warning on Sept. 6th. If so, it's interesting he waited until almost two weeks after being placed on mod preview to complain about being on mod preview. In actuality, though, he said he was looking for guidance as to what he should or shouldn't post, so he seemed at least somewhat genuine. I told him the gist of it all is that it's not necessarily what he's posting but how he's posting it. I gave him a few examples of the many that led to mod preview and told him that kind of stuff had to stop.

He has done a little better over the last few days. I don't think I've had to delete any of his comments since mod preview but I've only maybe seen 5-10 in that time.

 
Placed SandHills Pete on Mod Preview and issued a Warning for reoccurring turds in the punch bowl and not really contributing to discussion.

Might not be bad to revisit the others posted above.  I'll do some checking and get an updated list at some point.

I went ahead and added Pete to the OP, but feel free to jump in there and edit any of them if you have a chance to check those or look for new names.

 
It appears that jimmy1 was placed on Mod Preview by knapplc back in 2013.  He hasn't posted since until yesterday.  It would appear that we could remove that if everyone is OK with it.
