I was thinking the same thing. They are probably still on the list to add if they continue to pursue more teams.I wonder who Shatel's sources named as the 5 candidates.
Im guessing NU, ND, Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse.

I doubt Pitt was on the list. While a good academic and research institution, the Pittsburgh market is already pretty solid with PSU. The 'Big 3' I'm sure were Texas, Nebraska and ND (national brands). To me Rutgers and Syracuse was always an 'either/or', not both. I'm guessing Rutgers (population/television sets). And there was also talk about Maryland to make inroads into Baltimore and Washington DC (population/television sets). The cynic would say another motive would be to weaken the ACC for a possible 'down the road' addition of Boston College if ND was already on board. Just me speculating though.I was thinking the same thing. They are probably still on the list to add if they continue to pursue more teams.I wonder who Shatel's sources named as the 5 candidates.

I've never understood this about the lists people put out: is there are reason Virginia Tech is never on them? They're similar in geography with good academics and athletics.I wonder who Shatel's sources named as the 5 candidates.

VA Tech isn't an AAU school. That alone disqualifies them from Big 10 membership.I've never understood this about the lists people put out: is there are reason Virginia Tech is never on them? They're similar in geography with good academics and athletics.
