Mr. Accountability, "blow me," and responses

We have a fun thread on our hands. Beginning HERE, you can read (as Mods, it's hidden) Mr. Accountability's "blow me" post, and the various replies later on. Harry calls him an idiot, but it's in response to Accountability's "blow me."

Since then both have calmed down a bit. I put a warning in the thread, without specifying anyone in particular, but I want feedback on whether suspension(s) are in order.

Mr. Accountability - I think a week off will do him some good. That's a personal attack.

HebraskaHarry - not so much, but it's a close call.

 
I'd probably let it slide since things have calmed down on their own in this back and forth. Verbal warnings maybe? though maybe the in thread covers it. We could do it, but there'll be uglier things to moderate.

Accountability has two priors - 2009 and this past September. Pretty mild. And as you noted, it's died down. I'd be inclined to warn both and let it go - put the information in their Warning Status for future reference.

This is actually one of the reasons I skipped the latest tailgate. It's difficult to permaban someone you've hung out with and can put a face to. Also, I get the impression that several of them expected the rules to be bent for them because of that. And that's not gonna fly.

Plus I legitimately had two other tailgates to go to. So there's that.

Regarding Harry - I'll give him a warning and a timeout. I'll message MISTER Accountability and remind him that he's accountable for that kind of stuff, and remind him that he has two priors.

Yes, far better to warn only.....ban only (for any length) as an absolute last resort.
