My Prayers go out to Devon Walker

Football at the end of the day is just a game...that's it...nothing more...nothing less. What i saw today made me realize how short life could be.

With that being said.....my prayers go out to this kid and his family. I couldn't imaging seeing that as a parent. CPR, broken neck, collapsed lung and tracheotomy on the field....tough to watch.

I am with you on this one. We yell at each others team and wish them a bad game, but when something like this happens all is silent and nothing but good thoughts are being said.

Heal quickly Devon.

Football is just a game.Even Husker football.Sometimes life has a way of making our priorities seem insignificant.Best of luck to this young man and his family.

Update

Not much of an update other than he's out of surgery and in ICU. Still to early to tell what other damage may have happened.

Tulane University's team physician, Dr. Greg Stewart, said Devon Walker had a three-hour surgery at St. Francis Hospital on Sunday afternoon and neurosurgeons stabilized his spine.

"He is now in recovery," the statement from Stewart, which was released about 8:30 p.m, said. "… it will be several days before we can assess his condition post-surgery."

UPDATE

Still no update on whether he has full range of motion or any paralysis but...
