*** Name Change Guidelines ***

I WAS GOING TO POST THIS IN THE FEEDBACK FORUM, BUT WANTED TO RUN IT BY YOU GUYS BEFORE I DID ANYTHING "OFFICIAL." ANY CHANGES?

Here are the guidelines for name change requests:

1) Post all name change requests in this forum. Use the title "Name Change Request - [current username]." Adding your current username to the title will help keep the threads from all looking the same.

2) All names should be "family friendly." If you have to ask if it's OK, it's probably not going to be approved.

3) No name may be comprised of only symbols or punctuation marks.

4) One name change request per person per year. Pick a name you like, because you're going to live with it for at least one season.

5) Each member has a maximum of five name changes. If you're at #4 and you want to change your name again, think wisely because whatever you choose will be your name for the rest of your time on HuskerBoard.

I think I'd prefer once yearly instead of a hard cap at 5 per account -- that would make people think carefully about each name change, decrease their overall frequency, and also has an effective cap on it just due to time. And if Accountability would like to go through various title/capitalization permutations over the next ten years, I'd be OK with it -- definitely more than someone who is radically changing their name constantly.

Thanks, everyone. I went with the first four; I think the "once per year" requirement ought to rule out most of the problems. I've posted and pinned it in the Board Feedback forum.
