NCAA 11 Discussion

So is there anyone out there that plays straight up football anymore without all of the BS backyard plays!!! I can take being beat,i have had my a$$ kicked in the game numerous of times! But i cant take being beat'n buy someone who throws up a bunch of bs. So if there is anyone left out there that plays straight up football add me on the ps3 my screen name is m7red4

 
So I've had the absolute worst luck with this year's game. I've probably lost about 10 games already and that's not including all the times I've quit. I really don't understand. I've always been awesome at this game. It's pissing me off.

 
I am 9 years into the dynasty now as Wyoming and I have reached my first National Championship after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. And who is my opponent? Central Michigan.

BCS National Championship is #1 Wyoming vs. #2 Central Michigan. What the hell...

The mechanics of this game are significantly different than any previous NCAA title. Lower the difficulty settings and adjust the sliders until you think you've learned to feel the changes in the game. In all honesty, I had to play on Varsity the first few days because this game felt so odd to me.

As far as sliders are concerned, they're almost a necessity in NCAA Football games. Otherwise, bad things happen far too often.

That's extremely odd. It reminds me of two things though, one of them being funny and one being very frustrating.

First, I have a few dynasties but I'm in my 7th year with Nebraska. In my second season, I started the season ranked Number 4 and scheduled the teams ranked first, second, and third in the nation, beating them all. By the end of the season I was the only no loss team and had to play Oregon State for the national title.

Second, in the same dynasty, I have so far won two national titles in seven years, but I probably could have won four. In my first season and my sixth season, I went completely undefeated and had very good teams. In fact, in my sixth season, I didn't beat anybody by fewer than two touchdowns. However, I never moved higher than fourth in the BCS bowls and had to play a 10-2 Georgia Tech team in the Fiesta Bowl, and it didn't make any sense. I had beaten the #2, #17, and #8 ranked teams in the nation, yet I never passed teams like Ohio State or Oregon State that each had rather unimpressive wins against weaker teams.

Now, starting my seventh season, I have a Heisman Trophy winner coming back, the most prolific passer in Nebraska history coming back, and I only lost three starters. Yet, I somehow begin the season ranked ninth, even with a Fiesta Bowl win?

Something is wrong with the ranking system.

 
Well, started my 10th season against Idaho ranked number #14, first play of the game, i throw to my TE on a corner route who has a safety above him, the ball goes through the TE's body and into the hands of the safety who returns it for a touchdown. I shut the game off right after that. Not only is it physically impossible for a ball to go through someone, but just plain stupid. Never again will i play on Heisman.

I generally feel properly adjusted sliders and All-American difficulty give you the most realistic experience.

I find most times I play on Heisman, something ridiculous or something impossible happens (similar to your situation), and it ends up driving me crazy.

I generally feel properly adjusted sliders and All-American difficulty give you the most realistic experience.

I find most times I play on Heisman, something ridiculous or something impossible happens (similar to your situation), and it ends up driving me crazy.

Well, I would look but my xbox is in Omaha right now and I won't have it until the weekend. :facepalm:

I actually got my xbox last night huskerjack23, and I implemented the slider set up from this video. This one is set up for Heisman difficulty.

It makes the game more realistic, but the rushing game isn't good even against poor defenses. I have nothing but four and five stars on my line AND this slider set has you max out run blocking, yet crappy defensive lines were blowing my guys off of the ball and hitting me in the backfield.

So, I might recommend upping running back ability higher than he has in this video. The running back just has no explosiveness out of the backfield. But try it all his way first.

 
Thought it might be prudent to post that i restarted my career by switching the Big Ten and Big 12 schools so I can play for the conference title. I must say that in the first 5 seasons things have gone quite well. First season i went to the Fiesta Bowl and beat Stanford, Prince Amukamara walked away with the Thorpe Award. Second season I earned my first National title and got a contract extension, Jared Crick won 4 awards that seasons while Dennard won the Thorpe Award and Burkhead won the Walker and Maxwell Award. It was hard to have him come back for his senior year, but he did. Rex Burkhead made a run for the Heisman but unfortunately did not make it, stress foot fracture ended that towards the end of the season, but i ended up in the Big 12 Championship game going against and undefeated Michigan team while i lose to Penn and Iowa earlier, i won the title game and played once again in the Fiesta Bowl against Texas, beat them 51 - 14. That year Alex Henery and Adi Kunalic left earlier (Yes i started them at redshirt freshmans, so i cheated). Both Henery and Kunalic won the Groza and Guy Award respectively. The next year Martinez made a strong run for Heisman that is until he broke his foot in week 12, True freshman Aaron Green (It was the first 5 star HB i pulled in) had a great season starting after Burkhead left, but unfortunately after he tore a tricep i was stuck with a 3 star HB from Nebraska and Brion Carnes. I ended up finshing the season undefeated with Brion Carnes speedy legs and beat Florida 52 - 48 in the National Championship game. My 2nd BCS title and my 3rd conference title win.

Recruiting was awesome last year I was able to rake in three 4 star Tackles and four Guards (two of them 5 star and two 4 star) plus i pulled in a 5 star Center. Unfortunately, pulling in CB or LB has been a pain, i mostly pull in ATH and move them over to that position to fill it in or i find myself taking 3 star recruits that start in the low 60's. TE has also been a problem area since Reed and Cotton are gone.

Oh I should probably mention that Bo Pelini won coach of the year for 2011.

2014 should be a reloading year for me as I have a pretty good recruiting class coming in. A 5 star scrambling QB from Cali committed on the first week. I am currently heavily pursuing the #1 and 3 Tight Ends, both are 5 star recruits and have me in their Top 5. Cornerbacks will be a problem as the recruiting class doesn't look all that impressive, maybe something will come up good during the offseason.

I have had this problem too. I get all kinds of RBs and WRs lining up to come, but I can never get a lock down corner or atleast a 4 star. The 3 stars I get are a joke and have like 40 Intelligence rating. My pass defense has been shaky at times. Once the opposing team completes 3 or 4 in a row, then the receivers catch anything and I have zero pass rush. But I was in the top 10 in INTs and like 40th in overall pass defense, mostly because I would get by 3 or 4 TDs and run the clock in the 2nd half.

I played against Mizzou one time and Gabbert was 21-25 165 yards 4 INTs and no TDs, no sacks. what the hell kinda stat is that.
