Nebraska captains refuse to shake Iowa captains’ hands?

Personally, I don’t give a s#!t about anything Iowa players or coaches have to say. However, if you really watch the video of what happened and saw how the refs saw that, you will care. Think about it, if you were a ref and just witnessed a group of young college kids reach out to shake the hands of their opponent, and the opponent refused to shake their hand, what will you be thinking? No matter what we expect from the refs, they are still human and they react to what they witness. If a call could go either way, I would definitely not give it to those who showed poor sportsmanship. And all that because Iowa did not want us to pray in the middle of the field. Come on. We should never use religion as an excuse to be disrespectful to others.

Since we are not a juggernaut who can steamroll our opponents, we should not give opponents and refs more ammunition against us. As harmless as some on this board seem to think that drama was, I think that it is going to hurt us in more ways than just the loss.

Keep reaching man.

You see a small part & have no idea if they were out or just coming out.  You are just out to get Rhule.  Period.   I tired of whining about a second yr. Coach.  I also hate the class remarks, as there is over 50% of the posters who have none.
Ummmm…..I personally think the “outrage” over Rhule walking around the field and no handshake is laughably idiotic when you look around at so many other things happening.

I fully support Rhule continuing to do what ever he can to rebuild the program.

I thought my posting made that clear.

Sorry, just tired of all the complaining.  I just need to rant! :)

Rhule walking through.  It’s lame, there’s nothing there.  Iowa creating drama, sure. Who cares.

The mid field prayer.  If this got under our skin, we are mental cases.  Prayer is about prayer, not where you do it.  If it got us mad, we should have used it as fuel to play better.

The no hand shake is where we f’d up.  I too thought sheesh why give Iowa and the refs more motivation too.  It’s just against our DNA and literally against our creed.  And to to say we had to get back at them for not letting us use mid field?  What are we…petty junior high girls? The refs are not going to appreciate it either as one team is exhibiting poor sportsmanship from the jump. Just stupid, completely stupid and unnecessary.

I am waiting to see how Rhule answers questions on the no hand shake.  Don’t f this up, Matt.

This would bother me with other schools it does not with Iowa.  Why?  Iowa is sanctimonious.  What does this mean?

Sanctimonious

Definition:  acting as if morally better than others;  hypocritically pious or devout.

Should we do it?  No, but I will excuse it this time.
