Nebraska Legislature Thread

Legalize it and tax it, end of story.

My neighbor is totally against it, he thinks that if weed is legal everyone will just become a lazy a$$ pothead.  I always shake my head at that weird notion.
That was a fear many in Colorado had also. I have not noticed any changes from before it was legal to now. Well, okay, maybe one change. Every once in awhile you’ll notice somebody (not elderly) driving WAAAY too slow. And of course there are those sweet tax rebate checks we get from the state.

We drove from Colorado to Nebraska today and at a gas station in the last Colorado town, Julesburg, there were a bunch of people puffing on something in their car like they were trying to finish it before crossing the border. I feel like that’s probably still not legal.

Did anyone else know these things were exempt from taxes? What a joke. We need to stop deifying corn and the people who work in the corn industry.
I don’t know where you got this quote. But, if they are products used to make another product, they should be tax exempt.

That’s true in any industry.

Ok, for some reason the Nebraska government had them on a list to make them not exempt, in order to make up for reducing property taxes, then they changed their minds about it. If this is normal then I’m not sure why they added them on the list in the first place.

And now that you point it out it seems like an obvious thing. I just don’t understand why these were ever on a special tax exempt list instead of not just falling under a bigger category.

It’s under General Business here:
