Netflix & streaming video stuff worth watching

Season 2 of The Grand Tour is out Friday on Amazon, for you car enthusiasts. Although, to be fair, the Top Gear guys stopped focusing on cars a long time ago.

I actually understand if you only watched the first episode to Season 1.  Give a couple more a try.  IThe heme is far more deep than what you saw in one episode.

Got another good one for ya to try on Netflix......Godless. It’s a little different take on the western genre. I really enjoyed it and it’s only 7 episodes so it moves along at a pretty good pace and won’t waste weeks of your life. There’s just a couple slow parts where it drags a bit but it keeps moving nicely towards the conclusion. Quite a few non-traditional western twists and a couple unexpected surprises. Jeff Daniels is the main bad guy and surprisingly I really liked him in that roll. I don’t think you can go wrong.

That episode made such a bad impression on me that I doubt I'll ever bother to watch another episode. My wife and I have moved on to Mind Hunters

Mindhunters was a good watch can’t wait for season 2 . Some have been mentioned but my top 6 netflix are

1. Sons of Anarchy

2. Breaking Bad

3. Shameless

4. Wentworth

5. Weeds

6. Nurse Jackie

if you have access to HBO streaming(I do) I’d go with Game of Thrones, Sopranos, True Blood (first 4 seasons or so ) Ballers, WestWorld etc

I’m currently watching The Leftovers, and The Killing , and The Duece depending on my mood . None of them completely have  my attention yet.

Dexter, The Wire, 6 feet under are on the list

Move The Wire to the top of your list.

I am halfway through this series and definitely enjoy it. It's in German. Do not watch in the dubbed over English voices that it has set. Switch that show to German audio and English sub titles.

I did that as well. Then, I decided to give it a full season, and it was well worth it.
It's a pretty typical HBO show in that regard, much like GOT.  I feel like HBO's style of writing has a lot of shows start off slow which sometimes makes them hard to get into at first.  The Wire is definitely a series worth watching though.

Is there anyone else who has seen Dark yet? Again, watch it in German. Excellent show

I've started it twice, following your advise previously about watching it in German.  Turns out I have some ADHD or something.  I get 20-30 minutes in, get distracted and miss 10 minutes and realize I have no idea what was said because I don't understand nearly as much German as I thought I did.

Boy if there's one thing I cannot stand it is when a comedian is not PC. I hate it when they think they can just offend whoever they feel like in the name of comedy. Ooooh I'm getting mad just thinking about it.
Why the heck do comedians have to get on stage and make fun of different types of people?  It really turns me off!!!

Been watching The Tudors lately. Made it through season one, on about s2ep2 now. Really enjoying it but I tend to like pre 1700's stuff. I like that the basis of it seems to be very historically accurate even though I'm guessing much of what is portrayed is overly dramatized and maybe not so accurate. And being an HBO series there is a fair amount of...ahem...extracurriculars. Not necessarily a draw on it's own but I think it fits in well with the time period and the story of Henry VIII.  Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell from GoT) plays Anne Boleyn so even if you don't really like the story... Anyway I'd recommend trying it.

Correction, it is a Showtime series.

You are not the only one!  Wink!

"So, There was a new female boss at my work and guess what...she ended up doing a great job and raising profits 35%"  (Crowd waits for punchline but there isn't one)
