Yeah, it was good.
I would imagine that if Martin was not Oscar crazy (I would be as well) that it would have made a great 8-10 series.

I gotta be honest with you guys. This just doesn't look that interesting to me.
I've watched all four "chapters" and don't remember that scene. :dunno
I can't quite decide what I think about it. It seems like they have a grand plan that will tie to the movie at the end of this season. But it's kind of an odd story line. Chapter 4 was pretty off-the-wall from what we know of the history of the character (which isn't a lot). I suppose it will make more sense later but it seems a bit disjointed at the moment.

I concur. I was initially a little worried it wasn't going to live up to the expectations of a Scorsese film but it hit the stride in no time. At 3.5 hours I'm glad it did. Well worth the watch if you liked shows like Casino, Good Fellas, The Departed. If you don't like those, you're probably a movie hater and shouldn't watch anything
I was a little disappointed to find out
that many key points, in fact the basic assertion of the entire film, may be complete BS fabricated by Frank Sheeran (The Irishman) to help acquire a big payday for selling the story. It all seems very feasible but the story is based solely on the book "I hear you paint houses" which is based solely on the authors interviews with Sheeran. None of the major occurrences have been corroborated as fact by other sources. Of course it could all be true also. I don’t believe any of Sheeran’s claims have been disproven either.

I started streaming The Witcher over the last few days and I'm enjoying it so far. I highly recommend it for any fans of the books/video games, as well as people who like the sort of gritty, fantastical story telling that Game of Thrones made famous. The Witcher does enough to not feel like Game of Thrones, though (which is a huge win for me because I was never a huge GoT fan).
My only real critique at the moment is that the writing and plot structuring could be a bit stronger. The three main protagonists' storylines happen during different timelines (over several decades) and the show is trying to weave them into one coherent story. But, this results in the episodes jumping backwards and forwards in time while rarely giving an indication that it's doing so. There was one moment during episode 2 or 3 where an adult character in one timeline was all of a sudden a child in another. The execution and appearance of this was fairly jarring because there hadn't really been an overt moment up to that point to suggest the timelines were different.

The Aeronauts on Prime. Trailers made it look really good but I was a little disappointed upon watching. It is based on true events (which I always like) but they took huge liberty in changing and adding things. So much so that it may as well have been pure fiction and not overly good fiction at that. IDK, it might be worth viewing :dunno
Also watched Krakatoa East of Java (Prime). It's an old movie from the 60's. It was the first movie I ever remember seeing in a theatre. I was probably 4 or 5 yrs old and I was in Omaha with my parents for something (prob shopping at Neb Furniture Mart) and we all went to see it at Indian Hills Theatre. That was big time back then for a kid from Columbus. But I didn't remember a thing about the movie so thought I'd watch it. Worst. Movie. Ever. OMG it is so bad. The acting, the directing, editing, sound, camera work....all of it. It is so terrible I think people need to watch it just to see how bad a movie can really be.

Anyone ever watch Manifest on NBC? I saw the promos last year but just started streaming it a couple days ago after seeing the new season starting.
I can't decide if I like it (currently through episode 3). It's kind of interesting but it's pretty out there. I'm not sure the production value is great. And I think the only possible resolutions have to be pretty off the wall. So I'm afraid I'm going to be disappointed. But I'm not sure I'll be able to quit now that I've started.

I was really excited about it and watched the first few episodes. I was disappointed and quit watching. I thought it had lots of potential and was hoping for something more like Lost but they included too much bad human drama and didn't draw me into caring to find out the mystery. IDK, maybe it got/gets better...?
