Netflix & streaming video stuff worth watching

I don't really even notice...like, I watch shows to "not think", but to just zone out.

The only show I notice it with is Brownish, but even though it is a 30 minute current issues commercial I don't really care because it is entertaining.

You said "not just done for the lulz or gay innuendos or jokes".  There are numerous shows/movies where they just have to have a gay couple, regardless of if it supports the plotline and is certainly not for laughs.  Same with having a person of color, etc.  I have no problem with any of those things but please have it serve a purpose to the plot.  Often times it does not, it just gets interjected into there bc that's the "woke af" society we live in.

So Black people should only be in shows if it serves the plot. K.

Just watched the movie Babylon on Prime. Thought it was excellent. Having trouble believing it was not a hit with the critics. A little long at over 3 hours but not a boring stretch in it. Probably a really good portrayal of Hollywood’s transition from silent movies to talkies, but not sure exactly how accurate the seedy underbelly babylonesque stuff is. Highly entertaining nonetheless.

Made it through the first five released episodes of The Witcher season 3.

So far, not a huge fan of this season. The first two episodes had really awkward pace and writing. Episodes 3-5 have been better but still sort of forgettable. It's also really sad/disappointing to watch from the standpoint that Henry Cavill won't be coming back.

I really, really liked season 1; I've surprisingly never played any of the games, but season 1 got me to read the books.

Season 2 was ok; sort of middling at times, but ok.

After the nonsense surrounding Cavill's departure, I'm skipping season 3 and whatever comes after.

Yes.  It’s tiresome watching things for entertainment and for instance, there has to be a gay couple, that literally serve no purpose and actually in fact detract from the movie/show but HAVE to be in there bc god forbid they weren’t included in something.  That would be true hatred.
And this is season 2 of Ted Lasso. Instead of two guys being gay they nominated a supporting actress to get turnt. For no reason.

season 2 is a disaster. Season one was genius

If you are referring to Keeley, she was bi the entire time.   She mentioned it in season one when talking to Rebecca.

I somehow missed "Palm Springs" that dropped on Hulu back in 2020 during Covid.

It's a really fun watch, stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Miloti (sp?)--the mother from How I Met Your Mother and Leo's first wife from Wolf Of Wall Street.

It's Groundhog Day mixed with some Sci-Fi concepts and a sprinkle of Rom/Com. It had some laugh out loud moments, was surprisingly deep and sweet as well. Couldn't recommend it more.

Probably a wise choice. Season 1 was quite good. The books are really enjoyable (just finished them last summer).

Season 3 was hot garbage. Given the direction it went, I imagine the rest of the series is going to be a loss and not worth watching.

Caught John Wick 4 a couple days ago. If you like the John Wick series, you'll love it. It is shot beautifully and the violence is out of control. It is quite long, I think it clocks almost 2:45 but I barely noticed it. While I loved it and can't wait to watch it again, it is probably 45 minutes too long. The action sequences, while all awesome can get a bit tedious at times.

Agree. It was beautifully shot, and if you like Paris the city features heavily in the movie (although there is a comical absence of police, which are HEAVILY present on all streets if you visit).

Agree about the fight sequences being too long.

But otherwise a very good movie and a good way to end Keanu Reeves' involvement in the series. I do wonder if they're thinking of trying to spin off any of the new characters into another franchise, though.

Porn stars think that Hallmark movies use the same actors a lot!

And you are totally right, these magical towns set in the Northeast in a town of 2000 some how have

500 whites

500 blacks

500 asians

500 indians

And orphans...SOOOO MANY ORPHANS!

Didn't we have a conversation a few years ago about if Hallmark made porn?

Nice, glad you dug it. You may want to add in the spoilers tag in your post in case someone stumbles upon this and hasn't seen it yet haha. I wouldn't be surprised to see an offshoot of the Nobody character or the female concierge at the Osaka location.

Also,
