New DC

So what is Snow's job?  Is he the de facto DC - training Butler in the process?
In my opinion, Rhule is taking on the CEO role, with Dana leading as the Head Coach of the offense and Snow as the Head Coach of the defense. Butler would serve as the Director of Defense, allowing Rhule to focus on overseeing the team's overall operations. I also think the coaching changes aren’t finished yet. I expect them to make a strong hire for special teams, as that's a critical area that needs attention.

And to think Tom got 3 NC(should have been 6…but I digress) with limits to his staff and him being the OC as well.  So now all of Rhule’s buddies can participate in the NU gravy train.
why hire 1 already well qualified DC (supposedly there was interest from many) when you can hire 2.  I’m being a bit sarcastic and skeptical but come on - he took the big job and approaching year 3 we are still tinkering with the staff.
Job has changed a ton.  Osborne was college, Rhule is semi-pro.  Osborne did not have today's social media, TV presents NIL & revenue sharing.

1 benefit of Butler being the guy is that these bowl prep practices serve the big picture.  It will be interesting to see what Holgorsen & Butler change with what is effectively winter camp.  Will we see more Air Raid & Firezone blitzes as their backgrounds would suggest?

People who are great at what they do are people who are adaptable.

Trust me, we want a tinkerer over someone who sticks to what they know no matter what.
Hey guys - I was a bit, ok a lot, over the top.  Too cranky from not sleeping from too much cold meds.

I do wish Rhule the best and as @Lorewarn said - better to have a tinkerer than a Bill Calahan or SF who both stuck with their initial guys.

As yes, @SouthLincoln Husker  the game isn't the same - we are in the semi-pro league now.

s#!t is going around.  I'm sick too, so nothing better to do but live on the board.   ;)

He liked what we have done for the last 2 years......with a guy who isn't here anymore.  I don't really believe all the stuff about "sitting DC's showing a ton of interest" and "interviewed 5 or 6 people".  I don't think they were true interviews, and he had a plan all along.   It would be refreshing if he would just say that and stop blowing smoke up our bonnets.
